Funny, the people who voted yes on the fansite polls don't seem like haters.

Unless you're referring to the official forums where all the people are fanboys for the game and praise every little thing SE does for god only knows what reason.

ZAM has a large sample and seems the most accurate and extensive poll I've seen so far. It comes out about equal between those who will stay and those who will either quit for good or quit for a year to see if SE is sincere about really putting a playable game together with that subscription money or if they're just making a money grab. I tend to find that more believable than people voting so heavily pro SE on an SE supported site.

I intend to stay on for as long as they keep up the current momentum; my only gripe is that they chose to implement pay to play before tearing out and replacing the godawful mess that is FF14's UI.

At least in the official forum all the polls show the same result:
More than half of the people who cast their vote decided to stay, most of the time it's even 2/3 of the people.

Btw, I voted with "yes" too, but I'm not gonna pay the first month of subscription because of exams as well as any other month when I have to do too much.
But I think it still counts as staying

The white knighters for this game are overwhelming. It's like back in the day in the months after release, with the white knighters trying to prove the point that FFXIV was perfect and didnt need to be changed all over again.
