my suggest to yoshi P. is to put out pole on new players forum and ask if they like level jump potions, or alittle detail where find potion for main quest line. it seem the devs and players are on same page we all don't want people skip contents

How about story skip potions as MSQ rewards, that allow you to skip only the next 5 story quests? The potions could be in every 15 story quests as a reward

Again, why in the world would SE encourage you and give you free access to skip content they worked hard on? This game in terms of it's progression is not your typical MMO.
Never insinuated otherwise. I simply said it will not work to alleviate the problem. They may not want to encourage it, but the continual gating of content behind the MSQ will only be a detriment to the game. You cannot realistically expect new players to hop into a game four/six/eight years old and go through the enormous amount of content associated with each expansion or cough up an additional $40 to what they have already paid. "Working hard" isn't an excuse. It won't make a difference how hard they work if new players are put off by the game entirely. And I believe Yoshi said the team is 7/3 split in favour of the jump potion. So there is that.Again, SE does not want to encourage using these potions. It is here due to demand. The team is openly not for these potions. They do however meet demand. They will not encourage you to skip story content, they will only offer it as an additional option that you pay extra in the shop. I don't know how this is hard to understand.
For the precise reason Yoshi said: "to make it easier for the newer players to catch up with the rest of the community."
Charging an additional $40 doesn't make it easier. It merely replaces a grind based hurdle with a financial one and makes Square appear greedy. They acknowledge the MSQ trek has become too long yet their solution is to charge people $40 in lieu of fixing it. That doesn't look good, though I have little doubt plenty will pay it. When Blizzard comes across less money hungry, you probably want to reconsider your decisions.

So a few points i saw in the past pages.
In terms of WoW:
1. In terms of "time-frame" WoW redid the old content and zones after 3 full expansions. Up until then people were complaining about questing flow being disjointed, etc.
This is just to remind people that despite Blizzard not talking about it until the Blizzcon before Cataclysm, they still went back and redid everything *in many cases DESPITE people not wanting them to change everything* Many people to this day regret having so much content lost. Worse even, as a result of all this work, Cataclysm is considered one of their lesser expansions (because dev time went into revamping everything...hurr durr)
2. WoW has characters as classes. This means if you want a new "job" you level a new character. Arguably this makes it easier to level secondary jobs in WoW than in FFXIV because you have access to quests every time, not just the first time.
3. Even at its worst, WoW is faster to hit max level *now* after 6 expansions.
4. DESPITE All this, some people still feel deterred to level new characters in WoW (including veterans)
I understand your point, believe me I do. I am not saying there cannot and is not ever ill-intent when concerning money. What I'm saying is people need to think beyond money=greed and more importantly take into account the information available as well as their general actions and trends.
They already acknowledged this is an issue, and to your argument, even said they intend to change the MSQ/SQ ratio for StormBlood. You'll still have the same number of quests in game but instead of 100MSQ/100SQ maybe you'll have 50/150 now.
The price for purchase was already explained so i won't repeat that one.
Also, your use of "conflict of interest" is wrong in the context and example you gave, just fyi.

I like the idea, this won't ruin the game at all. It's a jump potion that is going to let you skip ARR stuff. I find it funny there are actually people canceling their accounts over this. It blows my mind. If you're a serious raider this doesn't affect you at all. If you have a FC, you'll usually run with your FC mates for newer content. I think the people are screaming the sky is falling are the same people who were scream Y2K... and if you don't know what that means.... I dunno what to say...google.
I already pointed this out in a previous post. WoW the MONSTER MMO, with the biggest cash flow of all time in its genre, took 3 expansions (2 plus vanilla) to re-vamp the leveling process. Even taking the BEST situation at hand (counting 1.0), it would mean they should revamp for SB. But that's still ignoring the constraints of budget.Because we already pay a monthly sub for this game with full price addons? While SE might not be a charity, but neither am I sorry. I mentioned it a while ago, but they had 1 year to fix this and it was known that people left because of how ARR is at certain points.
Wouldnt you be annoyed if someone is trying to sell you the solution to a problem which was selfmade?
I would also argue that a problem is only one in so long as it is perceived. But we're getting too philosophical here.
Actually that's not true, xp gains in wow for pre expansion content were adjusted at each expansion release to avoid XP bloating. Plus there weren't any MSQ of any sort in WOW.I already pointed this out in a previous post. The context here was in lieu of the concept of re-adjusting the MSQ in FFXIV. I should have elaborated.
That however still leads to a few points
The initial solution (adjust numbers) has also been done to an extent in FFXIV (especially for subsequent classes) and can be done again if needed. This isn't really what's being argued here.
Addressing the problem in WoW (that was significantly simpler to address overall) took 3 "expansions" and had lasting consequences to this day.
Not only that, but the impact it had on the perception of the player-base was evident. Although the quality of the world remake was good, people still see it as a lacking expansion overall.
Additional points:
Cataclysm was the first time ever WoW "lost" subs.
Bear in mind this is the biggest MMO in history, with the largestbudgetrevenue (at the time) and still went from ~12.5 mil to ~8 mil in one expansion. While not exclusively and directly related to the revamp, there is a correlation between revamp - end game content - and player satisfaction and retention.
