SE don't see it as a problem if the potions don't get soldThen they have essentially replaced one obstacle with another. The jump potion completely loses its purpose if they make it cash shop exclusive. People aren't going to be inclined to pay an additional $40 on top of what it'll cost to purchase everything else. I mean, some will, but not enough to make it a solution. To me, not bundling the jump potion with Stormblood just shows they really have no idea how to address the problem.
Player
There are two possibilities here.
Either they actually don't want people to buy potions but are implementing them to be able to claim they are doing something to alleviate an issue they have acknowledged and that has been brought up repeatedly by players (the wall that is ARR MSQ), without having to actually do anything to solve the problem, or...
SE is lying through their teeth, and a high price for the story skip (and level jump) potions is purely profit-driven, because they KNOW that people are extremely frustrated with the barriers the MSQ places and are betting on those frustrations turning into cash.
So either they aren't actually interested in fixing a problem, or they really just want to milk more money from the playerbase. Neither option seems particularly appealing.
