I'm only allowed to play video games for 2 hours a day that's not enough time to play on my main and progress all of my 17 other alts to level 50 then to level 60 though so I need the jumping potions

The problem with cleaning up all those older quests is it costs them making new quests. Every quest they alter, revamp or delete requires rewriting, debugging and QA work to make sure it all still flows properly plus before they touch anything they would have to review every quest to see what they could alter or shorten and what alteration to other quests would need to be done to account for the changes. If they do this current max lvl character are going to have to do with less and probably quite a bit. Would you be fine with no MSQ for two or three patches? Even that probably wouldn't cover the ARR MSQ for a revamp.I said this before Yoshi's announcement, regardless of the potions, they must clean it up, whatever it takes, it must be done, as these gates will still continue to drive people away.
Also, even though the XP gains would help, I feel its only a half step as no matter how much xp is given, those 100's of fed-ex's are still blocking your way.
People keep saying it and frankly I don't think they realise how much work it would take. The Dev team doesn't give itself much slack to do extra things with their release schedule. Its not like they can just squeeze it in on the side.
Most people seem to think this is just an issue with certain quests. Its not. The majority of sprouts I see burn out either burn out late ARR patch MSQ or early HW. That's right. You have sprouts quitting when they are doing HW quests, not ARR. I have seen very few sprouts stop at that point. They usually at least hit the patches. Their reason, almost always, is it is JUST TO LONG. Even if they like the story there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.
Why quit before it's even implemented? Why not wait and see if it will indeed damage the game or not? Are you afraid that after a few months of it being implemented you end up being in the wrong and it doesn't affect the game?
I think anyone threatening to quit, or already quit over this was already unhappy with the game and is using this as an excuse.
The jumping potions would make things easier one of my friends quit the game after beating arr cause he is was too burned out playing the game
You must be new around the MMO scene i guess; because you don't have a very good grasp or understanding of what P2W means.
There is no "unfair advantage" here that's what the WIN refers to. You skip what? 20 hours of using skills 1-5 in POTD? It doesn't net you prestige, you're not *owning newbs* with your superior level, gear and/or skill.
You are not winning at anything. you'll be at 50 (now) or 60 (expansion) and then have to go through it all to 60/70 like everyone else. You're arguing the *pay* in Pay to Win and are ignoring *win* altogether to make your case.
For 90% of the people, it does... the other 10% craft/pvp/RP or do w/e, and its not an advantage to them to skip content and get to the end quicker. You can start crafting at lvl 10, and you can RP at any level you want. PvP is the only thing that requires you to level up.
Me as an Imperial Soldier
I agree with Yoshi P. I think it is a good idea to add these potions. A MMO needs to attract players to stay alive. Having leveling potions are a good way to keep new players coming in so they can be current with everyone else and not have to grind a lot of old content to catch up. This is a great way for returning and new players to join the game. Also provides a service to vet players who want an alt but don't want to grind all the story and levels again.
This type of leveling items have worked well in other games like Destiny and WoW so I think it will work great in FFXIV.
Argue all you like. If you are right, you are right. If you are not, then you are not.
In this instance though, people saying it is not PTW are wrong. Whether it is a good thing for the game, or not, is a completely separate issue. I can see this sort of thing necessary after the 5th or 6th expansion, especially if they keep tying the next expansion to the tail of the previous. I think they need to stop doing THAT, rather than put in the PTW.
I don't think anyone (who stops to think about it) would doubt that untying HW from 2.55 and tying it back at the end of the Praetorium would take a lot of work. I don't think anyone (who stops to think about it) would doubt that untying SB from the end of HW would also be a lot of work. I think, and this is an opinion, that that work would be a better use of their time, even to the point of delaying 3.5 and 3.55 by one and two months (from current schedule) respectively, than making and implementing these PTW potions.
We can argue that all day long. But buying power, buying an advantage, not being PTW? Nope, sorry, circumstances do not matter, scenario does not matter, amount of power bought, or level of power bought to reach, do not matter ... any buying of in-game power or advantage using an out-of-game currency is PTW, no matter how minuscule the power gain percieved by people past that point may be.
