I wouldn't mind a jump potion if it was done right me personally would never use it but it's good for people who are new and actually take the game seriously enough to play for a while then use it

Stop hating on square Enix they are an awesome company and bless you square Enix bless you for creating jumping potions
I haven't noticed anyone denigrating or otherwise insulting or assaulting SE, so where do you get hating SE from?
Many people like, or love the idea of a content skipping potion. Many people think its one of the worst things imaginable that they could do to the game. Many more are in between.
Hating the idea though, is not anywhere close to hating on SE.
Me I'm only allowed to play video games for 2 hours a day Monday thru Saturday so I welcome the jumping potions
From ppl threatening to quit the game
If you wanna believe it is, by all means, but the fact remains that, at the end of the day, your so called "Advantage" is a skip through old, outdated, 2 year old, content. The end goal is what matters. In all seriousness, if you want to classify it as "pay-to-win" then go for it, and make sure to tell all your friends so you can all quit. You're making a mound out a mole hill...
How is that hate towards SE? That's a dislike (even a hate) for what they perceive will happen to the game, but how is that hate towards SE?
It should be obvious from my posts, I'm against the whole idea because it is buying power, the very essence of Paying to Win. I hate the idea and I may quit. I don't hate SE though - this move won't make me stop playing their other games. I can't speak for anyone else, but I doubt that this move is causing hatred of SE, even if it does remove the desire to play, or cause threats of cancellation.
For what its worth, such threats are only rarely carried out by the people who make them. Usually, its the people who quietly observe, and don't like what they see, that quit without any sort of fan faire. Usually, the people making them are doing so for emphasis on their point, not intending to actually do it.
The game does not begin at endgame ... the game does not even begin at the start of the most recent expansion.
You act as though the age of the content is relevant. It is not. Buying X power, whether that level X is at current player peak, or lower, is buying power. Buying power is Pay to Win.
Everything else is an irrelevancy that people want to attach so they can pretend that it is not what it is. If it walks like PTW, if it talks like PTW, it is PTW.
I'm not personally threatening I already have. It is the direct result of this discussion, soo I put it here... jfyi, when you quit there's no comment field to explain your reason, so this is where I put it, since it is directly related. They could certainly change my mind though.
I certainly don't hate Square, they are the reason I got into game development, If it wasn't for Square I would have never pursued my career. I however can't support them with this. So that put me where I am now. Doesn't mean I don't care about the game or w/e. Might log in with my remaining days, might not... lol
That is fine. ^^
You are partially correct. As it has been brought up before, there has kind of been a long series of events that has kind of wore me down personally, this pushed me over the edge. As far as "why now?" Well that is quite simple to answer, timing. Why quit before it's even implemented? Why not wait and see if it will indeed damage the game or not? Are you afraid that after a few months of it being implemented you end up being in the wrong and it doesn't affect the game?
I think anyone threatening to quit, or already quit over this was already unhappy with the game and is using this as an excuse.
I think it makes a lot more sense to show my dissatisfaction of the direction of this game at this moment by quitting now. It shows that I am uncertain about the future of this title despite hype surrounding the expansion. Additionally; despite them not saying much, the moderators here, I'm sure have seen a lot of my comments through the years, some of them really stupid and over the top on my end, some I'm not proud of, others that I am very proud of, defending new comers, defending casual players, giving my thoughts on art, mini games, dungeons, jobs, bugs, defending devs... I'm sure the list goes on.
Anyway, I would hope some of that through 1.0 to now, would have been seen, and I would hope that it came off as me genuinely caring and not just being an annoying twit. I have always cared about this game, things have frustrated me, I have lashed out etc.. but the one thing that has remained, is me caring about this game, and I have never "threatened" to quit, in all that time. I've thought about it based on some decisions made in the past etc... but I'm pretty sure I've never threatened to do it and honestly what would a threat do? Nothing. So I just canceled to vote that I'm displeased.
That was a little more long winded than I thought it would be, I'm a bit emotional too :P
