I've seen plenty of games before where the developers leave the game to literally rot away while they take all them money they can get - at least in that regard FF XIV is far above the rest.

People do that to every kind of company/enterprise, I don't know how this has anything to do with what I said. Yoshida is doing what he is doing because right now keeping the game alive is the best option. If one day they did their math and discovered that "leaving the game to rot and take all the money they can get" was a better option, they would do it.

You are the naive one if you think there's any other relationship between Square employees and it's consumers other than a commercial relationship.

I couldn't argue is the game still fun for the players without leveling or learning their own job, but I can imagine DF will be getting worse because of the new players who would like to skip everything.

We either play with friends (thus never meeting the bad, so DF won't change), play with people who say nothing (but get the content done in 15 minutes), or a bad player or two (who we will remember the same way we remember that bad moment ten-twenty years ago).

We live in an era where people pay other people to play Facebook games for them. It comes at no surprise that we're getting a potion so people can skip all that tedious gameplay part of the game they just bought.

We have a solution for this, it's called level syncing. If you convince a friend to start playing and refuse to do low level dungeons with them, you're a douchebag.

Nobody knows for sure. Most people here has legitimate concerns about the jump potion. I understand your argument that you can't control what people u get in DF and that your always going to get a few bad apples and a few good people but we don't know how jump potions are going to affect this. We may get more bad apples or we may not even notice the difference.

Business is business, maximising profits, it's a nasty dog eat dog world. But it doesn't mean all the employees are malevolent. FF XIV is a special game because Yoshida and the team really care about the fans and care about their craft. They love to delight us and meet us at events. If he feels he let us down he is extremely apologetic and they work their asses off to provide the best product they can, costing themselves some sanity with many consecutive weeks of overtime for the Heavensward release.

Most employee's feel bad when they have to do stuff that make customers experience suffer. They generally get no benefit from it. Some of the development team might be high enough for profit sharing bonuses though.

Now hears the point you make that amuses me. You say apologetic and work extra. Where are the apologies and the extra work over the LIES (yes I said lies) about housing. Where is the apology and extra work and not a cash grab over retainer/inventory space? People also say SE has invested back in the game but all we hear is not enough staff and server limitations. I think you are confusing current ffxiv to the pre ARR, or WoW pre activision.

There's data to be found in it which demonstrate that the fraction of new players buying a jumping potion out of the gate is actually tiny. Besides, this data also shows that the majority of players buying said potions have either already some experience in the MMORPG genre, play the game 'til level ~30 before buying, or only buy to play with someone in particular.
Also, keep in mind that these numbers are from the chinese and korean versions. In China and Korea, these services are extremely common (again, already stated in the OP). The EU and NA market for these is smaller. People tends to buy less of that stuff.

So, no, the DF will not change according to these numbers.

And whatever the case, even if new people were to buy jumping potions, it would only be a matter of time for them to learn how to be better at the game and perform to an "average level". So even then, the issue would only be temporary.

Really, this isn't as big of an issue as people think it is. Compared to the benefit of having more player "jump" into the game (pun intended), this issue is almost completly irrelevant because the benefit counterpart is huge.
