Q20: Will we ever be able to send tells from within an instanced area?
A20: While the feature can be implemented, it’s currently masked. It’s currently masked because we would like to prevent players from harassing each other just because they know they would never party together in the future. We will continue to monitor the situation carefully as we move forward.

The bulk of player who fill out the lower level duties are people using the Leveling Roulette. The Jump potions won't change this much. It won't make the game unplayable. The problem with levelling is and will continue to be how long it takes to grind through all the MSQ.You know implementing the potions costs resources as well? What you prefer a game that it will be unplayable if you dont shell out the money to jump? Because down the line thats gonna happen. At least now new players find new players into the DF. And you can not put the whole weight into mentor roulette where rewards are not worth it for the time spend (outside of being a good mentor) those queues for people who didnt pay will take more and more.
As for resources, the Jump potions already exist in the Chinese and Korean markets so the actual resources to implement these are relatively minor on their own and a far more permanent solution. Any streamlining with only help for one expansion before the length becomes a problem again.
That said I think resources should be implemented on support for things like Tutorials and story summary tools. However these features would be useful to all players so its not a complete loss of value to existing players.
I think there is an issue with the way their questing/unlocking/gating system works. When your dealing with elaborate programs changing small thing can require a surprising amount of actual work.

When I think about it further, I think people think that adding jump potions means that they won't also be working on making the story/leveling experience better. They're not just gonna implement the potions and call it a day, and anyone who swears that they will should probably back up their claim with more than just other claims.
Finally made a forum account just to comment on this.
I don't really mind the potions. Might even end up using one on an alt that's on a different server.
Though I would rather they actually fix the problems with progression in a different way instead of resorting to this.

This isn't P2W. You aren't winning anything. If you skip the story or leveling, you aren't going to be attempting Savage unless you're a very good player.
I know someone who can't even name all the Scions nor do they care to. They play to raid.
As others have mentioned, throw in a Hall of the Intermediate to help teach some of the more advanced elements of dungeon/boss fights (hopefully with an eye toward highlighting the importance of proper ability usage/rotations), and I have absolutely no problem with the implementation of jump potions as explained.

What's your point!?... I never said I was against the potions, I welcome them but don't think SE does it without business in mind, that would be naive!...
And what on Earth is that WoW thing!?... Is it even a game!?...![]()

♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥

The OT in my FC's static didn't even know what Aether was. He literally has skipped every bit of story in the game and cares nothing about the lore. He is also one of my FC's oldest members having joined when we first formed back in 2.55.

The point was calling it bad for business and the possible beginning of a decline seems a bit unfounded. The cash thing is just, shrugs. They made this game with business in mind, I just don't see the relevance in pointing that out for something like this. $30 for a moogle mount? Sure. Makes sense then.
