Unless they wanted to give ppl the option to level boost but still complete the MSQ. Only reason I can see this.

It's business in the sense that essentially, the idea of surpassing the MSQ and instant leveling are two separate items.
From a business stand point, you sale ideas individually to ensure that your consumer base doesn't feel slighted in the long run.
Example given would be that eventually someone will realize that they are purchasing this potion that allows them to skip msq and level instantly...but they've already skipped msq with a previous potion...complaints will fly.
How does that work in the Chinese version? Does you unlock all skipped content like dungeons, trials, raids from ARR on the duty finder or you just literally skip everything to the expansion and all past content stays locked (requiring you to go back and manually unlock yourself)?
Chinese version is split into 3 different things you can buy.How does that work in the Chinese version? Story Progression Books
Job Leveling Books (a book for each job that brings you to max level)
and Skill Books (for job skills)
The only restriction is that you have a level 50 character on your account, Expansion and room on your account for characters. Beyond that there is no limit to how many characters you can make on your account and bring to max level.
There is also starter gil and starter gear when you use the Story and Leveling Books (Which people have abused over there btw, mainly Cash Shop whales that will buy the job books over and over to keep getting gil)

Hopefully Yoshi-P isn't going to give us this Leveling "Potion" model, because it will probably get just as abused (or even more abused)

I hope they don't use that model simply because it requires you to slog a character to level 50 first BEFORE you even get the option of skipping. To me, the whole point of this thing would be to draw in players who couldn't make it past level 20 due to how slow-starting the game is.
Well considering they can buy gill from their shop over there, their marketboard is inflated compared to US

So what? The packs cost 8800 yen (= 70(!)€) and give you 200k gil... what madman pays 7000€ for 20 Million Gil?There is also starter gil and starter gear when you use the Story and Leveling Books (Which people have abused over there btw, mainly Cash Shop whales that will buy the job books over and over to keep getting gil)

For 70€ you'd get >75 Million gil from a RMT. Ye, that's 'illegal', bust just look at the numbers...
People buying 200k for 70 bucks aren't abusing anything, they're just spilling money on the company for almost nothing in return.. 200k, lawl.. that's half of what I invest on replica items for desynthesis on a daily basis, which gains me at least 800k in return for 5 mins work...
Let them obliterate their money for crap if that ensures more budget for ma game.
Inflation because of this? Lawl. 200k... xD

Well if the rules of using the jump potion requires you to have a lvl50 or lvl60 in your account and at a certain part in the main story, then I'm all for it! If SE allows anyone to use the jump potion then WTH... this game would be turning into WoW.
It seems Yoshida posted some words regarding the matter on the japanese forum, french translators are working on it now, any news from the english team ?
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
This game is already WoW...
