Steal FFXV's Fishing System

Ya know, like they did from plenty other FF titles. That Warrior class you're playing came from another FF, ya know.

To some people that hop over to this game, XIV is the only title in existence and fan service or features from other FF games sends them into blind rage because they're not familiar with it and they'll use excuses like "Let XIV be its own thing" despite how fan oriented this game is

bring up FFXI in particular if you really want to make people's teeth grind, this forum hates that game or atleast 95% of the forum

Heck no, really, ... No...

I don't want to take 30-40 Seconds for a Mini-Reel In Game just to get Pteranodons for Aetherial Reduction or Illuminati Perches for Blue Scrips...

Absolutely no, it may sound Fun for the first 10 Times and after that it becomes a Pain if you need hundreds of Fish ...

Let alone the Fact, Fisher got screwed in 3.3 due of Miner/Botanist having the Option to get Ice/Water Clusters with ease ....

Yeah, it's really not suited to a game where people would want to farm hundreds of items.

The Gold Saucer suggestion AlphaFox made earlier sounds good, though. It would make a much better fit with the mini-games there.

You cannot introduce a new fishing system when the game is this far in and not expect a backlash.

1. You're assuming everyone here has played XV and we know what you're talking about.
2. How about letting the game be playable for at least a month before hopping on a bandwagon.

To be fair to him, I think it takes most people more than a month to figure out wether they like fishing in FFXV or not.

XV fishing actually feels like real fishing which is why people who play XIV will be put off by it.

And this is why we need it here! it also looks alot like modern/slightly altered version of BoF3 fishing minigame where you need to reel and tap to get "tech" points so fish bites. Dunno but everytime there is fishing in a RPG i go nuts with it sadly XIV fishing is almost boring as it was in WoW, currently getting my fishing fixes in Stardew Valley.

So would you also want fall damage to result in death instead of 1hp? It's just like real falling after all. Or how about perma death? Or ailments on the field for being too hot, cold or hunger status which can also result in death.

Fishing in FFXIV and FFXV are both boring, to me at least
