Because undersized is locked for HW fights and anyone wanting to go in fresh is always inconveniencing others unless they have tons of patient friends

Seriously though I love to do my own research by learning with a bunch of friends fresh; hate watching videos in advance of other people who got to figure it out the more fun way. But asking for a full explanation is rude, as is not listening to instructions. I don't think Ramath was advocating either of these approaches so much as saying that 'kill nails' or 'adds first' is a perfectly reasonable level of pre-planning for groups to use to clear most ordinary fights. Especially since some strats can vary across cultures and it's good to have everyone on the same page...

I wasn't being serious, it's just that their attitude is bothering me.
They are not alone in this game and looking up the fight + asking for a few things to watch out for is imo the best way to prepare if one was to attempt a new fight for the first time.
I think that going completely blind (and therefore wasting other peoples' time) should only be done, if

    1. the encounter is new, i.e. there are no guides available
    or
    2. they got some friends who are willing to explain everything thoroughly.

I, as a random player, cannot be expected to teach them just because they were unwilling to do a tiny bit of research themselves. Looking up a guide doesn't turn the game into a "research project" and make it any less about "playing games".
Going in unprepared is just being inconsiderate to players who are willing to prepare themselves. If you don't want to be considerate, don't play with randoms.
