Because a gil sink (5% tax from MB and NPC price for prisma) have to be replaced with another gil sink (NPC price for glamouring, and taking the chance to increase the gil sink)

Personally, I like the prisms. While I don't craft them to sell anymore, I've made a little over 5mil just crafting and selling the things. There's very little reason to change it, I love the system we have personally!

Legit question: Does the system really have to be dumbed down further?

Making something more accessible does not = dumbed down.

It's already easily accessible by everyone. Any other changes would just dumb it down further, IMHO. It's fine the way it is.

Would make it enough more accessible than they are already for the devs to spend time on it?

That's not a bad question. IMO, yes. "Glamour is the true end game" is a saying for a reason, it's something that a lot of people care about. Making a system more refined, and up to par with its competitors is a good use of development time.

Yes, but removing prism will not make it more accessible than they are already.
What will make the system more accessible is something like multiple glamouring on the gear that is more linked to the job than to the gear. On that the devs should spend time, not on the prism.

I also like that you have not cross class glamour or such stuff.

We have plenty of gil sinks. The tax on prisms is so minuscule, it's not worth mentioning. Furthermore, the devs have done little to actually provide ways to spend the millions of gil we so easily accumulate. FFXIV's glamour system is incredibly cumbersome and non-user friendly. Refusing to refine it up to the standards of other MMOs because of a 5% tax is silly. Free to Play MMOs have better systems than FFXIV.

I don't see a problem with how the prisms work now, especially since the levels have been scrapped. Would rather spend my gil on the MB (or make my own prisms) than throw it at some bottomless glamour NPC gil sink. So imo this is one aspect that doesn't need 'fixing'.

And echoing a lot of posts here but if anything needs fixing/adding.. it would be glamour books to store all acquired gear and a way to have separate glams for jobs that share the same gear.
