Here OP, I'll give you one, single thing I want: cross-clas glamour.
Make it happen SE. Stop hiding behind lore-reasons and lack of resources or w.e. Enough with the customization linearity.

Just one is impossible. And hey, you said the same thing i did just in a different way. Quite honestly i like your "patch notes" style post. +1 for sure.
I have been wanting the possibility to wear one piece of glamour for my Warrior, such as the WAR AF gear, then the PLD AF gear for my PLD. I thought this is what you were asking for, but at least you reminded me.
Makes no sense for a game thats 50% raiding, 20% dungeons and 30% glamour to lock glamour to one role. (ie "Tank" glamour, or "healer" glamour.)
::goes back to edit post yet again::
Okay I'll bite, despite the fact I am pretty much happy with the core functions of the game and have a lot of faith in Yoshi and his team in what changes and improvements that they will be bringing to the game in the future, these are just my own personal wishes of things I would like to see added or changed in the game:
1). A complete overhaul of the Armoury System – retain the core concept of class based on weapon or tool, and Job piggybacking on a base class.
2) Connected to that, ACN and it’s two Jobs plus the Heavensward ‘Extra Jobs’ should be redesigned to give consistency to the Armoury System – viz SCH should be completely removed from ACN and given to a new base class – example could be ‘Mediator’ (MED?), retaining the grimoire as it’s weapon but redesigned as a ‘codex’ with slight visual differences. Additionally the Extra Jobs should also be given base classes that start from level 1, but retaining their current weapon types, viz examples being Musketeer (MSK) for MCH, Ravager (RVG) for DRK and Mystic (MYS) for AST (another possibility for the later could be AST becomes the base class and the actual Job renamed as Time Mage).
3). Further tweaks could be made to the Armoury System as a whole by restoring the 1.22 idea of making classes retain their value instead of becoming invalid once their Job is added, giving bonuses to using base classes in solo content instead of Jobs. Accordingly new Job NPCs for the Heavensward Jobs would be added in Coerthas Central Highlands instead of having to unlock them inside Ishgard, instead Ishgard access for Job quests would only be required beyond level 50.
4). Job NPC locations would have their icons added to the map to show players where they are located (similar to the Job ‘guild’ icons used in Ishgard for Machinist and Astrologian).
5). Return the Path Companions back to the game from 1.0 as an alternative to the Chocobo Companion, but with tweaks more in line with the Retainer Venture system. Path Companions would, like 1.0, feature their own story dialogue in cutscenes.
6). Add an option to change the GUI’s art style and font to 1.0’s style (but retaining ARR’s full functionality).
7). Add new additional zones to ARR regions (such as the West Shroud to the Black Shroud, the missing lower half of Mor Dhona (Lake Silvertear around Camp Brittlebark), and the missing parts of Coerthas (Coerthas Western Lowlands, Coerthas Central Lowlands).
8). Inventories changed to a 1.0 style list instead of an icon-based grid (as the grid-based inventory is actually very unwieldy selecting and moving gear around in - errors abound if you move something too rapidly that the server is still processing/writing to).
9). The railway in Thanalan actually added as a player-accessible mode of transport to and from Ul’dah. This would be accessed through a new zone inside Ul’dah (‘Ul’dah Central Station’?) and would provide access in Thanalan at stations at Ul’dah Dispatch Yard Station, Black Brush Station and Nanawa Mines Station in Central Thanalan, Bluefog Station in Northern Thanalan, and Goblet Station in the Goblet Residential Area. The railway would gameplay wise function similar to the small ferries already used in Limsa Lominsa and Gridania and would zone automatically to the destination (accessed from a list), after showing the player’s character boarding and the train departing and arriving. Additionally, a possible future addition could also be using the ‘Phantom Train’ railway running between Castrum Meridanium in Northern Thanalan and Castrum Centri in Mor Dhona in a similar manner, maybe accessed in a similar way lore-wise to using the helitaxi in Junon in FFVII.
10). Airship departure and arrival cutscenes added for airships travelling to and from the three cities to Ishgard and the Gold Saucer (but with the option to skip if desired). Also the small boats and ferries in Limsa Lominsa and Gridania would be given optional cutscenes of the boat leaving and departing, again fully skippable if desired.
11). Restore more missing 1.0 music tracks to the game, either in zones/content or as Orchestrion rolls. My own desired tracks include Navigator’s Glory ~ The Theme of Limsa Lominsa, Born of the Boughs ~ The Theme of Gridania, The Twin Faces of Fate ~ The Theme of Ul’dah, Piece of Mind, Tears for Mor Dhona, Imperium, The Seventh Gate, The Forest’s Pulse, Quicksand, Widdershins, In the Shadow of the Colossus, Prelude ~ Remembrance, Opening Theme (Final Fantasy), Conflagration and Victory Fanfare (1.0).
12). Add an option to include icons next to a character’s nameplate and in the Character screen that show various player statuses and attainments similar to the existing Mentor ‘crown’/New Adventurer ‘sprout’ icons – such as an icon denoting they were a 1.0 player (‘Mark of the Twelve’ icon?), a 1.0 player with Legacy Status (‘Legacy Campaign’ logo?), a 1.0 player who completed the 1.0 storyline (and thus is an ‘original Warrior of Light’ – crystal icon?), is an ARR Alpha Tester (ARR meteor logo surrounding an ‘a’?), is an ARR Beta Tester (ARR meteor logo surrounding a ‘b’?), or has attained maximum Veteran Rank (also verified by logged time in game exceeding a certain amount of hours and not just based on ‘days subscribed – crystal surrounded by stars?). Each icon would be player selectable in the Party menu under ‘Edit Character Status’). These icons would also be represented on the character’s Lodestone profile and on the FFXIV Forum (if a member there). These were just some examples and I’m sure there could be other icons added showing attainment of certain achievements or milestones in the game as well.
13). Add more NPC glamour outfits as player equipment! Especially the gorgeous 1600's style dresses the noble ladies in Ishgard wear!
14). Retainers and npc vendors in a Free Company house can have that company crest added to their outfits. Also a banner furnishing that displays the company crest on it that can be displayed inside the house.
15). More old abilities from 1.0 returning for Jobs with future level upgrades (like GLA's Red Lotus, Phalanx and War Drum).
16). Change FATEs so that players are not automatically 'joined' in a FATE just by stepping into the FATE's boundary. Instead, a button becomes available similar to the level sync function it already has if you are 6 or so levels higher than it's base level which will join you up (the existing level sync function would occur automatically as it already does). This would make situations where a FATE spawns right where a player is already bound by duty like a levequest or while harvesting and getting killed by those enemies a thing of the past and would make it far less annoying as a result.
These are just my own personal wishes though and will most likely never be implemented. But if they are, I would be forever grateful.Either way, thank you Yoshi and your team for trying to take everyone's conflicting wishes into consideration and keep everyone happy and satisfied.

Make fun of me all you want, but this is literally the biggest thing stopping me from coming back to this game ATM. I only play healers in MMOs, and the healing in this game is so DPS-focused and unenjoyable to me that I've moved on. I feel like the meta was absolutely an unintended consequence of trying to make healing simplistic/powerful so that newer players could pick it up easily, while giving them solo capacity to make leveling smoother, and I feel like the endgame suffers pretty heavily for it. I don't think the devs really expected that healers would start DPSing heavily in all forms of content, but that once they started to, they couldn't see a way to kind of "back out of it" without dramatically changing how the entire game plays. I think if they're going to change it, an expansion is pretty much the only feasible time.
Admittedly, the players in the healer subforum are very vocal about keeping healer DPS the way it is, so maybe I'm a minority opinion. But I think lots of things can actually be attributed to overpowered tank mitigation/healing, such as the huge emphasis on one-shot mechanics in the upper levels of gameplay. If it doesn't outright kill you, or force some manner of arbitrary pass/fail condition like a huge DoT, boss gets massively increased armor etc, then it can just be power-healed through and I think that's a good reason why raid design in this game is so focused on mandatory synchronized movement patterns and one-shots.
EDIT: another thing I would like is for them to remove the ABSURDLY antiquated character posting limits on the forums already. FFS.
That clears it up, yea.
Because it's not side content in this game, unlike the games you mentioned. It's something you can actually focus on, put some thought in, and progress through. If it's a huge pain for you to go gathering, perhaps it simply isn't something for you, but there's plenty of players who enjoy it.
Most of the additions on your list are good, because they add onto the battle system, but let's not "improve" the crafting/gathering system by taking away the things that a lot of players have been finding enjoyable for years.
Indeed, the vast majority of my posts don't actually advocate the changes to crafting and gathering, for the simple reason that I know some people enjoy it. My selfish wish list, though, does want it to be changed. There is literally nothing I despise more in any video game, than the crafting and gathering system in FFXIV.
