    I enjoy the crafting and gathering in this game exactly because it's not just a "press one button, wait 3 seconds, crafting's done" system. Turning it into a system like that would just kill off a major part of the game for me.

    Which brings me to what I'd wish for:
    Specialist System. I'd like a better system that encourages crafters to specialise in something, rather than being forced into one. Something along the lines of specialists needing less materials to craft something.
    I italicized it, because I don't mean innovation literally. I mean it in the way that Yoshi and the dev team meant it. They said they are going to reduce dungeon content to provide more innovative content. I hope that helps clear it up?

    As for crafting, I like the systems in WoW, Guild Wars 2 and Wildstar, with Wildstar having the best system imo. It was fun side content you could do while you do your battle content. In this game, it's a huge pain to go gathering etc. Even if just gathering changed, I'd be happier.

    Because it's not side content in this game, unlike the games you mentioned. It's something you can actually focus on, put some thought in, and progress through. If it's a huge pain for you to go gathering, perhaps it simply isn't something for you, but there's plenty of players who enjoy it.
    Most of the additions on your list are good, because they add onto the battle system, but let's not "improve" the crafting/gathering system by taking away the things that a lot of players have been finding enjoyable for years.

    Indeed, the vast majority of my posts don't actually advocate the changes to crafting and gathering, for the simple reason that I know some people enjoy it. My selfish wish list, though, does want it to be changed. There is literally nothing I despise more in any video game, than the crafting and gathering system in FFXIV.

    Ok.

    1. A wardrobe system. I know its not a new idea but with Glamour being a huge thing in this game this feature would be hugely popular. Not sure how feasible technically it is but worth asking for.

    2. A more engaging end game for Crafting/Gathering. Not so much about what we can craft but how we do endgame. Just making sellable items for Rowena for tokens was dull. What I mean is something like Crafters and Gatherer having kind of a progression narratively like being involved rebuilding of the Idylshire rather than just a witness. Have some kind of measure of progression where we unlock things that help us get or craft more advanced stuff. You could also have visual progression in spots like how we had with the Moogle quests. I love the complexity and depth of crafting and gathering in this game but would love more of an actual sense of endgame to it.

    3. Duty Queuing as more than one Job. I, like many really, have more than one role. In a lot of cases when queuing for a Duty I really don't mind what role I play and really just want the quickest queue. It would be great where we could queue with different roles at the same time allowing us to fill whatever role was needed most in that prospective queue.

    I am sure I will think of more but that's what I have off the top of my head.

    Let us pick two jobs from which to take our cross classes and give us more variety of skills.

    Better bodies.

    Give us more grindy content. Relics are a good start because they're a long term goal and fun, but there really isn't anything else like it. Everything else in game rewards you too easily.

    Lastly and most importantly, BETTER BODIES.

    I have a great idea. Use the ideas the trained and enthusiastic developers come up with and ignore the ideas the idle-fingered forum posters in games like to come up with...so they seem, uh...SMART.

    I want bards to regain their freedom of movement. I have far more fun when I do duty trials than any main content on my bard because of the freedom bards had.

    My biggest wish for 4.0 is an upgrade to the character creation. It's one of the most important aspects of the game given how much focus is placed upon glamour and cosmetics.
