I was just clarifying what some others had posted prior about just how exclusive these new rewards are.

Limited time.
Competing against others.
And limited availability.


Several people here have said they wouldn't have a problem if it wasn't as limited as it is. They don't mind having to pvp to earn it, the wouldn't mind it taking a while to earn it...

But when it's limited to the timespan, requires high skill to get, and limited to only 10 people for a whole datacenter...

It's really stretching it for most people.

So we can never have limited rewards that require skill and hard work to acquire just because some people can't stand not having what others have? Imagine if this garbage flew in other competitions. Imagine if championship trophies/rings were easy to acquire and only needed time and not effort to get. Imagine if EVERYONE owned the god damn UFC Middleweight Championship Belt, imagine if everyone owned their own League of Legends 2016 World Championship Summoner's Cup, imagine if everyone had their own Olympic Gold medal.

It wouldn't fly, and it shouldn't. There should be rewards for people that put in the time and effort to acquire them.

Time and effort might not get someone the reward.

In fact, according to what I've read in this thread, it's highly unlikely to get the reward even if you spend the time and effort, simply because only 10 people in the entire datacenter can ever obtain it from what we currently know.

I like shiny things. Doesn't mean I'll ever win my own Super Bowl ring or Olympic Medal. It might be cool to have one sure but I'll not begrudge their existence because I'm not one of the handful of people to get one.

It's kind of cool there's a unique reward for people who do really well, even if I'm not one of them.

Regarding the Feast season 3 ranking rewards

Hello.

Thank you for all the feed back for the Feast season 3 ranking rewards.

We apologize for making players worry about the minions we added as the reward for the 3rd season of the feast. Especially those players trying to collect all minions in the game.

Starting with the JP community, we received similar opinions from around the world so the development team had discussions on the rewards. As a result, we decided to change and expand the way you can obtain the minions from the 3rd season of the feast as follows. (The info shown on the lodestone will change later)

Additions to other acquiring conditions for the minions from the ranking rewards

The minion rewards for solo and party rankings (1st place to 10th place) will be obtainable through pvp achievements that we are planning to add for patch 3.5 or later.

Additions to solo and party rewards for Season 3 (rank 1st to 10th)

The minions that are currently set as the season 3 ranking rewards for 1st to 10th place will still be obtainable as planned and to add to that, we will be adding new "original earrings" as a reward for those ranked players.

We are aware that there are players who are striving hard to play the feast for the already announced rewards, so we made sure those players will be the first to have the opportunity to gain the season 3 rewards. So the achievements for the minions are planned to be added after season3 of the feast is over.

This way, the minions will not be limitted to the top rankers and every player will be able to gain them through that route (achievements).

With that being said, the minions won't be exclusive to the top rankers anymore, so we decided to add new earrings for them instead.

We are really sorry for underestimating and misreading the passsion from those minion collectors out there. Again, we sincerly apologize for making players worry about this matter.

From here on, the dev team will make sure we are careful and discuss thoroughly when it comes to setting rewards that are limitted or difficult to obtain/reobtain. If there is something you notice, please send us your feed back.

Wow, I didn't expect SE to respond at all let alone provide an alternate route for these minions.
Even if it ends up requiring a million ranked wins at least it places them into the realm of possibility for all minion collectors instead of 10 per data center.
