Already kinda is. PvP and PvE is different you cant do rankings/tournaments in PvE content.

Server first/Ahead of the Curve PVE achievements are a thing in many games. This game has also has POTD rankings. WoW had dungeon rankings for a while. Blizzcon and other conventions have held PVE tournaments many times where two teams compete for fastest/cleanest kills.

Also not really, it isn't already like that. PVE rewards aren't available only while the PVE season is current.

Some of you guys are outright not reading what people are saying.

Seriously, in any other medium people would be like "wow congratulations for being the best at pvp" when they show off their mount (like when you see people with the A12 mount in the first few weeks), but instead it's a "time restriction" because everything has to be selfish in this game.

Perhaps people don't have the same views on the A12 mount because it will be available to anyone with a pulse in a year. Nevermind how when someone else gets the mount it doesn't remove you from the pool of people who can get it. Just a couple thoughts.

If you're a minion collector and are whining about this, your resolve is weak and pathetic.

If you say it's too unlikely to even try to get the top 10 rewards, didn't you think about how unlikely it is for you to get all the minions ever when you decided to start collecting them?

Either you decide that you're going to get all the minions and at least try, or then just accept that you can't get all of those minions ever.

Did you think you'd get all minions if you just drop some cash?

If you want it enough, you'll put the work in to get it.

Give it 6 months to a year when there new players that join the game want those minions/mount and want to know why that can get them just look around it already happens with older limited content that been out.

You forget in future there will be other rewards that are limited its nice to have exclusivity if everyone could have everything it would be just boring. New ppl want it? Yea they do but still doesnt give a reason to not do exlusive rewards. If they would do pvp tournament and give out exlusive rewards would you complain too? Only thing I see here are ppl who cry about smth that isnt a big deal further more "then they should do it for pve too blabla" maybe they do? maybe not? who knows the game is so focused on pve why would you just suddenly think because smth in pvp is like this it should be done in pve too logic much? PvE gets enough content you guys shouldnt really complain I wouldnt even mind server first titles etc.

Btw. checked some ppl who complaining they dont even have the non exclusive mounts but complain about mount collecting k

They have though. We have had cash shop timed exclusives that are no longer available. Not to mentioned the pve timed exclusives in the shape of the yokai watch event, which is now gone potentially forever and wasn't just 2 minions but a whopping 13 of them.

Ye but PvP tournaments/rankings are more common. This game dont really is made for speedruns and even then maybe they plan such stuff in future? Saying PvP cant have this cause PvE doesnt atm is just selfish af. lol

You're comparing scoring top 10 in a datacenter to... doing FATEs. How can you even begin to think that's comparable? Are you really selling high end PVP this short?

White Ravens would be a better comparison - available only to high end PVErs capable of clearing Darnus EX during 1.0. Thing is, still nowhere near as exclusive as there were many more than 10 earrings available (no limit).

And... that's the main point many of us are making. It's not that we don't want the PVP rewards to be exclusive at all, we simply don't want their level of exclusivity to be so high. They stick out like a sore thumb compared to everything else that's ever been in the game. There's a lot of room to tone them down while still keeping them exclusive, but more in line with the rest of FFXIV.

I would really recommend you not to watch any PvP streams right now, lol.

That is actually so false. People have actually complained that too many people STOP playing when they get into the top 100 because it's safe to do so.

Don't comment on what you obviously don't know, especially since you probably have never tried.

I tried halfway through last season and got to the top 100. What irks me is 90% of the people here who said "do the content" have never even stepped in PvP and would probably have a 40% win rate.

I hope they add an i290 weapon for the top 10 triple triad players this month, and a super lewd outfit for the world 1st team for the next raid, and a cool mini brute justice mount with custom emotes for the world 1st PotD clear. If were going to start with real rewards, I want it to go all the way.

And I think SE should change my Darnus Earrings so they are BiS.
