It's actually a bit of the opposite. You literally have a choice now to compete in the Feast and place top 10, or simply wait til the season is over, and put in the very-likely-lesser effort to achieve the same thing. The time-release is simply to not discourage those currently competing for it, but effectively, SE has just said "Climb the mountain now, or walk the trails later. The same prize will be awarded regardless of the method or effort chosen." Everyone has a chance to get the minion now, and that's truly great, but with what's been laid out, why should anyone bother to compete for it now?

And as stated before, I'm personally not all that interested in the minion. I still don't even know what it is.

I somewhat agree. We will need to know what exactly the requirements will be for the Minion post-Season 3, to know exactly how much effort will be needed. Granted, an earring doesn't feel like an adequate replacement, but players will still need to place in the Top 100 for the Mount(s). And a preview of the rewards would be nice too. My complaint was pretty much that very few people (if any) seemed to be coming up with any further solutions to this, and instead spamming the forums incoherently in some sort of attempt to make a point(?)

What kind of requirement could SE put on the Minions post-Season 3 that would make you feel less disappointed?

Yeah, been that way for a long time. And now PvP as well, apparently. . . I'm starting to run out of reasons for wanting to do anything and be proficient at it.

If SE wants to appeal to competitive PVP players, which seems to be what the whole Feast thing is all around, then they need to provide sufficient prestige for the effort those players put in. People aren't going to spend a lot of time on a reward that holds little value. People aren't going to waste their time doing things the hard way if there is a much easier way to do the same thing.

Earrings are kind of lame as a alternative reward. Most people can't even make out earrings people are wearing.

Perhaps that was intended to be funny or a nice dig at the people who voiced legit protest to the idea, and with good reason. But as it is, it adds little to the conversation and really only reflects poorly of you.

It's fine that you stand by the joke, but sadly, the joke is really on all of us whenever SE points to a mountain and offers a prize for reaching the top, then says you can climb it now or walk a trail later and still get the same reward. . . Months from now when people are less willing to queue for the Feast due to lessened incentives, burnout, and no real motivation, what will they offer then?

Achievement comes in 3.5, Season 3 doesn't end until 3.55...

At least make it Feast only rewards. Content needs to have some exclusivity to it to try to get people encouraged to do it, you can't just give away everything to people just because want it
