Game is ruined (FFXIV 2.0)

that UI is one of the worst looking things I have ever seen, what is with having UI vomitted all over your screen being considered good in the MMO space while offline games have been moving towards minimalism.

It is completely possible to give necessary information while providing a UI that is sleek and doesnt cover 50% of your screen

and dungeon finder is awful and should be throw on the chopping block now

I'm probably done until FFXIV reaches this patch, I'll give it one more try since this will be the full realization of the direction the game is going, if it lives up to my fears then I won't stay

(1) Already in place, just not integrated into the game.

(3) I was looking for any mention of AH and didn't see one. Where did they say it? Don't toy with my emotions, man.

i took another look at the image and I stand by that number, look at everything, player names popup damage numbers and cure numbers, healthbars over character heads and in your party menu, giant micro menu bars of abilities chat log minimap giant enemy healthbar, whatever is under the minimap, whatever is in the bottom right corner including what looks like a freaking Gil count, why do we need to know our gil at all times, thats as useless as the current always shown XP bar, the word Enemy above the action bars, thats pointless, the word full party(useless in current UI as well)

its just WAY too much

besides the UI and the wordless dungeon finder though this is definitely intriguing

The game looks like WoW. Everything about it sounds like any other MMORPG. FFXIV was good because it was UNIQUE. FFXI was unique too. Now, they're gone and resorted to copying everything else in order to try to revive the game and not have the game be a big sunk cost.

It's just... sad. I'm all for improvements upon the game. I'm all for a better FFXIV. I don't like the current state of affairs, but the newer one doesn't look like an improvement... definitely not what I've been hoping for.

You ever think that maybe this is an improvement? As much as I dislike World of Warcraft, it did do some things right. An MMO shouldn't play like it was made in the late 90's... In this gaming age, stuff like this is standard for a reason. Ever wonder why iPhones are so popular? They're accessible...like games should be. You can add all the content you want, but if the game is obnoxiously clunky (see: XIV combat, XIV UI, XIV everything), people will be turned off.

This is just.. terrible.

The game looks like WoW, and everything about it sounds like every other MMO on the market. So much of the stuff they talk about (dungeon finder, achievements, etc) are just... sigh...

While it initially sounded good, the more I read, it just got worse and worse. I am absolutely disappointed in SE, they've gone and ruined what they were actually starting to fix and improve upon. I knew a new UI was coming, I knew a lot was coming... but all of this is just completely annoying and just... I'm just shocked that they actually did this.

Colossal disappointment... I don't even care that they're starting to charge money, I would've gladly kept paying right now... but after this, I just don't think so. :\

The reasons you "hate" the possible changes so much are so insanely stupid I actually can not even start discussing them.

You act like WoW is the only other MMORPG out there. SE is not copying WoW.

Every single MMORPG has crow control, some kind of auction house system, PvP, player housing, add-ons and multiple mounts.

Even FFXI had add-ons, those were maybe not official, but they were there.
