F-Zero and Kirby have been silent except for Smash Brothers games, Star Fox is the same old same old, ditto for Pokemon.

I'm not saying they couldn't turn it around with the Switch, and I hope they do, because I'd love to see some fresh, good new Metroid and F-Zero and Star Fox titles. But a pedestal? Nah, I don't think so.
Kirby's been fairly active for a Nintendo IP. I think they released a 3DS Kirby game earlier this year. Whatever that Wii U one was too. To be honest, if those titles in general aren't reason enough for you to get a Nintendo system, then it's just not for you. It's wrong to think that a company is out to market to you specifically. They don't know you, so they don't care about what you specifically like or dislike.

It'd be like me saying that Battlefield 1 needs to do a better job at appealing to me, because it just doesn't look like a game I would care about. The devs, producers, and community that does want it could not give less of a damn about my opinion on that matter lol. They'll do their thing without me.

No one asked you to put them up on a pedestal. People are going to like and be excited for what they like. Don't hate just for the sake of hating lol. Nintendo has far more successful exclusive IPs than the rest of the gaming companies, they're fine on the market they cater to as far as that's concerned. If they were more focused on falling in line with the unsurprising and completely expected ways that Sony and MS do their consoles, they would... but it's kinda obvious they don't care to. For better or worse lol.

They have a lot of very low quality IP's for sure. Sony wins out not in quantity but quality.
Do they? The amount of support Sony gave its handheld venture is pretty damn lackluster by comparison to the 3DS. If anything, Nintendo has the better quality control for most of their big IPs. You can't really say the same on MS and Sony. Most big hit titles on those consoles aren't even really exclusive. There's a reason why those consoles are aiming to be a budget PC now.
