The console is sooooo small.
I don't think that will be more powerful than PS4.
I don't want another low-end console limiting the game. o.o

After reading that blog, I did not have the impression it was comparable to xbox one. Where in there did you see that?Based on the specs Nvidia gave (https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2016/1...ntendo-switch/ it seems like it's power is comparable to Xbox One. So FFXIV could run fine on it, but I don't know if it would have any limitations beyond anything graphical.
I will just say, off just glancing at it, FFXIV could be a possibility. It is more about if the Switch sells well, if the team can handle it's infrastructure, and if Nintendo will allow cross play.
"Nintendo Switch Limitations"
It is speculation based of other's findings, not my own. Everything looks like it was customized specifically for the Nintendo Switch. Plus I said comparable. It can be in the lesser or better range depending on how well people can push the hardware to it's limits.
It's a handheld, it can't match stationary console specs. For size, power consumption reasons alone, plus Tegra doesn't compare to PS4 level APUs. Portable RAM solutions also have huge bandwidth disadvantages compared to stationary counter parts.
Specs of the Nintendo Switch, it could run FFXIV but I'm sure no one wants to deal with "Nintendo Switch limitations" as we just rid of the PS3. Square Enix is a partner for the Switch so it's possible. It also runs on the ARM architecture so porting it over would be a huge effort, unlikely to be worth it.

It depends if the docking station supports an additional function or processing power. My guess is it could do a game 1080p/60fps on the screen and on portable it goes to 720p/30-40fps. Purely speculation though.
Oh, I see. Thanks for the reply. Yeah, from my understanding, Tegra processors are notoriously worse than GTX/Radeon graphics cards, and IIRC Xbox one uses a Radeon. That doesn't necessarily mean it's worse, but with the information available, I made that assumption.
It's marketed as a home console that can switch to a handheld. That said, I agree with the rest of what you said.
Could be wrong, but those specs seem pretty bad. Don't they? Also, are those specs confirmed?Specs of the Nintendo Switch, it could run FFXIV but I'm sure no one wants to deal with "Nintendo Switch limitations" as we just rid of the PS3. Square Enix is a partner for the Switch so it's possible.
They're pretty bad tbh, but I don't know why people expected PS4 performance out of a portable device. As for whether or not they confirmed, well I got them from a friend who got them off another friend from the Nintendo developer portal (requires an account)... can't say it's 100% legitimate, but I trust them both.

FTFY xD
I think the thing is, this is marketed as a home console that you can take with you. It's more like the portable nature of it is secondary, rather than primary.

According to Switch specs.
Capacity of 4 GB
Bandwidth: 25.6 GB/s
PS4 for comparison
Capacity 8 gigs of RAM
176 GB/s
PS4's RAM is SEVEN times faster. This thing is not even in the same league because it's a handheld.
