It is speculation based of other's findings, not my own. Everything looks like it was customized specifically for the Nintendo Switch. Plus I said comparable. It can be in the lesser or better range depending on how well people can push the hardware to it's limits.

Oh, I see. Thanks for the reply. Yeah, from my understanding, Tegra processors are notoriously worse than GTX/Radeon graphics cards, and IIRC Xbox one uses a Radeon. That doesn't necessarily mean it's worse, but with the information available, I made that assumption.

It's a handheld, it can't match stationary console specs. For size, power consumption reasons alone, plus Tegra doesn't compare to PS4 level APUs. Portable RAM solutions also have huge bandwidth disadvantages compared to stationary counter parts.

It's marketed as a home console that can switch to a handheld. That said, I agree with the rest of what you said.

Specs of the Nintendo Switch, it could run FFXIV but I'm sure no one wants to deal with "Nintendo Switch limitations" as we just rid of the PS3. Square Enix is a partner for the Switch so it's possible.

Could be wrong, but those specs seem pretty bad. Don't they? Also, are those specs confirmed?

nVidia Shield use K1 processor Nintendo Switch is probably using X1 processor so yes more powerful than nVidia Shield

Not according to the articles I read today that simply said it will use the Tegra in the top of the range Shield. I don't follow nVidia shield or Tegra very closely these days, so you may well be right, I'd have to do some research.

No. It is the size of a tablet, so there is likely no active cooling solution. That fact alone gives strong hints to the type of power you're looking at. It will have to be a very low voltage processing core, in order to give it a decent battery life but more importantly to keep heat down.

The only site that is to be trusted right now in regards to THE SPEC is Nintendo and any other site that works with developers who have their hands on the kits to make or port games =\

Speculate all you want, GI.biz has several developers with switch kits in house saying this kit is on par with the xbox one which would provide more then enough horsepower to run FFXIV and just about anything else on the market

No, the storage may not need cooling, but the CPU/GPU sure will. Its as he said, they will be incredibly low voltage to not overheat without active cooling.

And that *will* restrict performance with the CPU/GPU sandwiched between the screen and battery, there is next to no opportunity for cooling except through heat conducting through the batter, screen and casing. Performance will be clock limited due to this.
