Your paying $100 for The Statue the emote is just a bonus. It's not locked behind the statue because your not ment to buy it just for the emote.

Like others have said, buy the statue for the statue, the emote is just a bonus. For when the time comes that FFXIV closes its doors for good you still have the statue that you wanted to buy, but not the emote you wanted to buy and now is gone forever.

The cash shop isn't going anywhere, regardless of who likes it or not, SE would be insane to get rid of it when people are giving them money for easily forgettable content. Thankfully it's only kept to cosmetics. i don't like content behind paywalls either but i don't really care either, let the whales waste their money, if something is out of your reach, then so be it. Just move on, crying isn't going to change how they do it.

But as it's been pointed out, the statue is the reason for the cost, it's a collectors item.

I am so annoyed that the Odin emote is locked to buying a figure that's over 100$ I understand minions, and furniture coming with merchandise, but they weren't over 100$ They were like 50$ There is no way most people can afford this.

The emote is locked behind the statue, which is the reason most people will be having it in the first place.

If you want the emote/statue, then you save up the money to buy it. If you can't afford it/can't justify the price, then you live without it.

That's how being a functional adult works. If you barely have the money to pay your subscription, then you have more important things to worry about that a friggin' in-game emote.

If there's a demand for the emote itself, a normal person might even sell it separately to players like the OP when they receive the statue to recoup some of the cost~

The emote is an incentive to buy the Statue actually, if they didn't add the Emote to it, then it wouldn't sell at all.

I would still want the statue alone since Odin is my favourite primal. But I don't feel like spending that much on a statue, even with the included bonus emote as I am currently saving up for something else I want even more.

I figure we're too small of a userbase to be worth it, but if Blizzard managed to release a Warcraft cookbook in retail stores down here I don't see why SE can't do it for major items. At the very least, a digital version of the lore book would be nice.
