I'm out in the overworld nearly every day between treasure maps, beastmen dailies and hunt bills. they should do more with all of those but i don't think they need to drastically add new systems to the overworld that will alienate other players.

But they really need to change itemization to make those more worthwhile.
Ive been running raid and end game guilds in MMO's for over 15 years. Its more than just my little bubble. My opinions are drawn from my experiences over those years and across numerous games. FFXIV has a problem with overworld content. There is too big a disconnect between players and the world. There are a multitude of ways they could help address that, but it boils down to giving players an exciting reason to spend more of their playtime in the actual game world and less time standing in social hubs popping in and out of instances. Beastmen dailies are just another chore list. Hunts are zerg content that often dies in 30 seconds or less then ppl warp right back out. Treasure maps are good. There isnt enough happening here though. I hate how disconnected I feel from the places, towns, and zones in this game. Its a disconnect Ive never felt in any other MMO, and it exists because 90% of the games chore list's are completed standing in a social hub or housing district. I want a reason to to be in the world, and I know its been an argument many have made for a long time in this game.
