This is a Japanese game, and the English is a localization. If you enjoy the English localization, why are you so certain that you would not enjoy the Russian localization?
^ This. As well as, you know... you're allowed to play the game in whatever language you like by changing your language settings. I'm from NA, but I often play with the text and UI of my game in German and my cutscene audio is Japanese, so... Even if there was a Russian localization and you decided you didn't like it, you wouldn't be obligated to use it.

Although I agree that it comes down to profit margins and I think if support for new languages is going to be added, it will likely be (and probably should be) Spanish first, I'm really surprised people are bothering to argue against someone asking for another language. If you don't want sub prices raised to support the new localization, that's one thing. But arguing against adding a useful function for your fellow players that would give some of them a much more accessible experience is really... :/

Guys, the localization is carried out only when company a certain region takes the game under his wing. At the moment, localization is carried out in regions of China/Korea, but this game did not stick. In these regions of very different tastes for mmorpg projects that are associated with pvp. Write fourth time. We are not talking about localization of the game in Russia, I'm against it. In our country do not have adequate company that can fully localize the project. We are talking about the possibility to add Russian language.
According to reiichi, it would be possible to solve the problem in the following way. The company squerenix could expand your office and hire a professional Russian translators who live in Japan, or in extreme cases in Russia. It would be enough a few people(10-30) for optimal performance.

This decision would help my countrymen to practice professional language level, the ability to find a job. Squarenix for the opportunity to expand the popularity of their game and to get additional profit. Many players from Russia have no desire to start playing FF14 because of the language barrier, and I understand them. I have to spend a lot of time for an adequate translation of each text, and instead of playing, I teach English. I'm not too happy about it.
I will repeat again for his countrymen . For those who know English, I'm happy for you. But I very much doubt that your knowledge is up to the professional level. And instead help people to adapt the game for the Russian community , you speak negatively. It's very sad that among us, there are such people.
And you will not be able to develop professional-level language using a dictionary and google translate. People spend a lot of years and end up higher institutions for the development of this level

Look, it's clear you want it, but that doesn't make it happen.
SE is not some Indy developer from Kickstarter that sways with promise of a few extra bucks for implementing a specific feature in their game for you, SE is a multi-billion Yen multinational gaming company that aims to please their shareholders before their gamers.
What you want isn't some project where they put a few temps on, this requires the full time employment of several people having a native level in Japanese, English and Russian to both translate the existing content as well as guarantee continuity. A partial gig isn't going to happen, it's the full game or nothing.
Also unlike you, many people are not that keen on paying a few bucks extra to be able to play in their native language.

What you need to convince SE to translate the game in Russian is the backing of people in numbers, large numbers of people that are already playing this game, and by the looks of this thread you aren't getting much support from your fellow Russian speakers.
A mere promise of "many" new players isn't going to cut it.

Bluntly said, a Russian language version won't be coming.

I recommend you to read (reread) my last two post. What about support from the Russian community, that is the case. While on the subject does not answer the GM, to connect our community doesn't make sense.
What about the players who are against my ideas, unfortunately in our society people love something to stand out and at the same time to humiliate those who do not.A way to raise their self-esteem. Unfortunately, you can contemplate in this thread.
And I want to add. Will soon be playing Final Fantasy 15, which supports Russian language. . We can assume that squarenix have already begun to expand your office. It's a step forward.
It is based on from the news about FinalFantasy 15 gave hope to add Russian language in Final Fantasy 14. And we don't want to miss this chance.

I remember there used to be something like this but instead of Russian, it's Spanish? SE didn't respond to their case for bringing the Spanish version, I doubt that they will respond to yours.

It's better than just sit waiting. As described above, there is hope.

@Milopoto why don't you start offering players' name that support this idea who speaks this language. Show SE that the majority of the Russian community is supporting the idea. I have seen the RMT thread with a lot of people signatures, and I think it's still "pending" but at least shows that the community is looking for a solution or help from the company. I think the Russian database player should be the one paying extra money to allow them to get the native language because this is an extra feature that only benefit them not the already players who speak other languages or knows English.

I'm glad you support our idea. Didn't expect such a warm welcome on the part of Western players, thank you very much for that.
At this stage, our main task is to get an answer from the game master, make sure that you have heard us and are willing to meet us halfway. If this step is complete, we will provide all the information necessary for the fulfillment of the conditions.

There are just too many things that are nearly or completely impossible to keep the same way as they were originally. Especially jokes, puns and words from "old English" which I actually enjoy to learn and be able to understand.
So far this is the first time I see someone from Russian community asking for a translation. Everyone else seems perfectly fine the way it is.
You know that the native language of this series of games - Japanese? Why do not you play the completely in Japanese? Do you seriously think that in English all the jokes and dialogue sound as the Japanese? If you are so happy to play in English, then why are you whining? To the rest of the people could not enjoy the game in their native language? Or are you someone with a gun at the head will be forced to play it in Russian? Such people as you call - selfish.
