    Russian speak

    Good afternoon.
Greetings from the Russian community. We have an interesting idea. We love to play FFXIV but it is very hard for some players due to language barrier. At the moment the standard subscription
in Steam cost us around 5$. We are not against if you raise a monthly payment so you can translate text into Russian. Because of that players who are not very good in english will be able to enjoy the atmosphere of the game completely, and you will be able to get profit from your work.
Currently. it is very hard for people with average knowledge of English language to enjoy the atmosphere of the game. So I ask you to consider this option.
Russian community is very grateful for your work, we believe in you
    Ps/ Thx PomPomFlare

Write fourth time. We are not talking about localization of the game in Russia, I'm against it. In our country do not have adequate company that can fully localize the project. We are talking about the possibility to add Russian language.
According to reiichi, it would be possible to solve the problem in the following way. The company squerenix could expand your office and hire a professional Russian translators who live in Japan, or in extreme cases in Russia. It would be enough a few people(10-30) for optimal performance.

I have to spend a lot of time for an adequate translation of each text, and instead of playing, I teach English. I'm not too happy about it.
I will repeat again for his countrymen . For those who know English, I'm happy for you. But I very much doubt that your knowledge is up to the professional level. And instead help people to adapt the game for the Russian community , you speak negatively. It's very sad that among us, there are such people.
And you will not be able to develop professional-level language using a dictionary and google translate. People spend a lot of years and end up higher institutions for the development of this level

It is based on from the news about FinalFantasy 15 gave hope to add Russian language in Final Fantasy 14. And we don't want to miss this chance.

It is possible to add new language to the game, can cause some difficulties.
In the game there is a relaxation room. This room contains storage, a bed, and diary assignments. In this diary kept videos the story quests and their description. Good idea, if you add the translation of the quests in this diary. Players will be able to read the quests after their passage and fully understand the whole meaning. The game will be the 4 basic language, it will allow you to avoid a lot of work on the translation of the game. Players will have the opportunity to understand the story in their own language.
This choice will help to start to translate the game into other languages, with less resource cost. The main thing that will start the gradual translation of the game, which can be completed full translation at minimal cost.
The main demand for translation appears because of the incomplete understanding of narrative stories and other interesting quests.

I am not against it, but this really depends on how many Russian FFXIV players there are because this is quite an investment to do.
Not only would they need to translate the entire game, they'd need to hire quite a few voice actors as well to do the spoken cutscenes in Russian for both the new as well as the old content.
If there are many Russian players it might indeed be a viable option, but we are talking about at least several thousand players.

That said, I am curious to how your subscription can only be $5 per month.
In comparison, I pay €10.99 per month for a 180 day standard subscription period.

Only for account tied to steam. Steam has its own price policy for different regions so basically subscription price for steam players from Russia "scales down" according to this policy. Hence, the current price.

Thank you for answering, I wasn't aware of that.
That said, I'll just stick to my current sub.

    1. Please don't speak as a voice of community. Nobody's authorized you.
    2. Many active FFXIV players from Russia actually opposed to the very idea of localization, for reasons.

    With best regards,
    concerned russian player.

It is about the translation, about game release in Russia not of the word. A large number of Russian-language communities translating a game. If you don't like the Russian players, it is only your personal relation.

It will be rather simple to add adequate Russian translation. The English postscoring good, you shouldn't change it.
    About cost. 289 rubles = $5

Russian translation would only happen if some local company made a deal with SE to operate FFXIV in the region - the same deal Korea and China got. That would also mean separate servers, late updates and F2P stuff - to all of which I say {No thanks}. Besides, English translation is absolutely wonderful and well worth learning a language for.

Most of the quests written in a fiction genre. Only professional experts in the language, can reliably and accurately understand what was going on. To possess such knowledge, you need to spend a lot of time and effort. Translate to the school level and to understand what is happening in General terms, everyone can.
And please tell me what kind of company localized the game in the West? I know that the game is supported by steam and squarenix.
An example of a game with the Paladins. This game is not localized in our country, it is in steam and it supports Russian language, which simplifies the Russian-speaking community to play it.
Language can be added without localization
