My bad for not prefacing my previous response. I was responding to both you and Radiosuitcase, the latter who suggested that there is no merit to the non-verbal communication used in these virtual spaces.
Also, am I missing something, here? Where did I imply that the non-verbal FFXIV allows us is "more effective" than a person's words? I do remember saying this:

a "vast majority" describes quantity, not quality.
