yeah that was a really odd decision, i had to laugh when i read it in the patch notes, so far i find dueling kind of fun

I looovveee the dueling zone. I absolutely love it. But I love destroying players in the game and still having a good laugh. Not too mention you learn things from other players to better shape your dps with the attacks you pull in those battles. And I love hearing from people who give tips. The community is strong in this game if you play your cards right. But the decisions they make up top or at the helm of this game hasnt been the best decisions since 3.0 dropped.

the pier is a lot of fun was watching this drg just destroy warriors, mnks, etc so my friend told me to go on drg and challenge them and totally got my butt handed to me lol so much more fun that say fl where you get ganged on, youre absolutely right i hope they put an arena in more towns or something(coliseum in ul'dah im looking at you) hpnestly i feel liike the triple triad battle arena idea should be an update for a wd like pier cross server area fpr 1v1 in the future, even

I'm fine with increasing the gap between players. Like allowing people to get to iLevel 300 if they work hard enough, hard to get, but possible. Don't just lock everybody to i270 because we need to wait for the flipfloppers in case they decide to comeback for a month after the next patch or something.

Level and equipment syncing should be an option. It's so boring that some content force us to be weaker.

Limitations are boring. RNG is boring. Lots of boring MMO features shouldn't be in the game. Try something new. Clone WoW all you want but don't clone something that isn't good. Make people keep playing the game because it's entertaining. Make combat faster and stop holding people back with stupid general cooldown.

People were extremely skeptical at the time this game originally came out after the general disappointment of 13, and the abysmal reception to 14 1.0.
It won back trust in the whole brand because it was, and is, a fun game in its own right.

Of course I would be. Name recognition may get someone to START something, but it won't keep them at it if they don't find it enjoyable.
And I've been playing this game nigh daily since launch for exactly that reason. I find it enjoyable.

I don't know if that's really accurate. I don't play XIV anymore (waiting to see if 4.0 holds my interest over Legion when it comes out), but I still think I'm gonna buy a PS4 so I can play FFXV.

I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan, but I've never had any interest in their online offerings until a friend wouldn't shut up about FFXIV during the closed beta. There were 3-4 people in my old XIV raid static that had never played an offline Final Fantasy, conversely enough. I think word of mouth is equally as effective at snaring new players as brand recognition is.

Yeah, if you were in a Dynamis shell and getting the currency for the leader of the LS, that wasn't happening. Outside of that, it cost an average of 60MIL+ to buy all the currency, not too mention waiting JP midnight and runs of Dynamis. You must not have had a relic weapon in FFXI if you think it was 'easy' to get. It wasn't.

Nothing you said is actually "difficult", it's just extremely long. Yes, I didn't do any relic, but I did far enough Dynamis with my HLS to help several members create theirs.

I don't think so. XIV is a good case of "came for the name, stayed for the game".

I've always disliked the Final Fantasy series, for the record. I tried this one because I love online games and graphics looked nice, definitely not because of its name. Now FFXIV is my favourite game ever, but I still wouldn't touch any other FF with a stick (neither would my best friend, who is also obsessed with this game). So yes, this game IS fun in its own right.

Edit: I must admit, however, that I do love the character designs from FF games. I simply don't care about the games themselves, not even playing XV.
