Frankly, I'm hoping he doesn't use them. I dunno, but the way he stared at them after what Elidibus said came off as 'better not use these'
I would like to point out that canonically our world only has 1 WoL while theirs had 5. The way how they described events, it seems like they were always a step ahead of the forces of darkness and that they practically slaughtered the Ascians. Considering that it took everything we had to take out just 2 of them in 3 years (Lahabrea is most assuredly going to make some sort of comeback), I'd say that their events probably unfolded a lot more smoothly than ours. She'll be back, alright. After absorbing the excess light in the 1st's world she'll be back and more powerful than ever; she won't need a linkpearl to speak to you now ... it'll be direct telepathy!
The Eyes were bound to show up.
Since there are parallel worlds could it mean that the same major events happened in the WoDs world, too?
I really hope that if she comes back she wont be so powerful..I have nothing against Minfilia being able to fight, but please no "its over 9000". I am not really sure if they are truly parallel worlds. Shouldnt they have known the NPCs of this world if it was truly a parallel world? Maybe some major events where similar but I hope that its not exactly like us.She'll be back, alright. Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Honestly, main story sucks this patch, the only thing really remotely good about it is that they kept the Warriors of Darkness consistent with other Final Fantasy games (not making them bad guys, making them balanced with light/darkness). I thought it was okay until MINFILLIA shows up, and then it all went to shit.
Also last patch when Alphinaud is like "quick! throw the eyes into the abyss!"...... okay, lets just chuck them over a bridge and just think NO ONE is going to find them again. And all the characters just seem content with that being the way you discard things like that. Dumb. Just dumb.
Generally I like to blame the loc team on a lot of the bad presentation of the story in this game... but I think the story is just getting plain bad.
I thought it was okay, on the side of being generic and boring. It wasn't anything that enraged me at least and I felt like they had the potential to move the story into a cool and interesting direction... but then the last bit happened and really just killed it for me.
The eyes will probably be used to awaken Omega weapon by the Ala Mhigan resistance but it will be taken over by the Ascians. That'll be what happens I'm guessing?
The nature of the dragon eyes is yet a mistery. Of course, together they were able to become nidhogg's shadow (niddy himself dead by Estinien hands, and we banished his shadow, so no more niddy as individual consciousness with a purpose is left). Separated they were powerful enough to fuel a god-banishing-from-existence sword...
I think the eyes are first, nearly indestructible, only be able to be either consumed (as the first heavensward did) or you get possessed by them, the first heavensward went a long shot thanks to consuming the eyes, fighting a fully powered niddy and taking one of his eyes out, and even that wasn't enough as thordan died in that encounter, haldrath the first loldrg finished it off, and then they decided to not consume them (something we never got explained, we know they ultimately sealed Haldrath away cause he also got consumed by the eyes).
So is either a thing of consuming the eyes first, before they consume you, there is maybe a diference between Ratatoskr and Niddy, since she, for all we know, was much more peaceful, she might have been weaker, her escense more easily tamed and that alone was enough to allow the first heavensward to consume her eyes, yet they were not strong enough to do the same with Niddy's, his personality and escense had to be first purified from the eyes, thing we did, just like you prepare food for their consumption, we prepared those eyes, purified them and now they are ready to fuel a new master.
I also think, the eyes are nearly, if not completely, indistructible... They only logical reason to do with them at that time being was to quickly cast them away somewhere no one will ever reach them (Azhys Lla was the location picked by the first heavensward and we saw how that went...) The abyss underneath Ishgard wasn't honestly a bad choice, once again, we were attacked by an Ascian Ex Machina.
Either way, it makes a lot of sense, at least for my and my crazy theories, that the eyes are back.
You want to kill vast numbers of innocent people? Cause that is the Darkness factions MO at the moment. Even the WoD were only going with that to save their own world and that was basically killing everyone on their own world so they weren't trapped in a Void of Light.
Hydaelyn has actually brought this up before. She actually brought it up with us in Gears of Change when she mentioned how in banishing Zodiark she created this situation, something she only did be cause Zodiark tried to take over. Now admittedly we have only her world to go off but we also know that Team Zodiark's solution isn't exactly good for those of us alive on the worlds.
Hydaelyn doesn't have free reign. She outright says she needs emissaries to act through just as Zodiark uses the Ascians. The only reason she was able to talk to us was because the Crystals of Light combined strength was enough to allow her to reach out. The Ascians themselves have said she is massively weakened. The whole deal with Minfilia is she had grown so weak she couldn't even commune with her chosen champion without a voice piece.
Its also not like she gives us a lot of orders beyond 'Ascians are bad, don't trust them' which the Ascians own track record should be enough to show. Beyond that she has generally just told us to learn and decide what to do ourselves.
On the eyes of Nidhogg. I'm pretty sure they are just big Aetheric batteries at this point. I doubt we will actually see Nidhogg again in any form.
