The main thing about Parry is that Survivability is something that you can't rely Parry to do since it's RNG and it doesn't work against magical attacks The chances of Parry saving is awfully slim.Well, it's a tank stat that helps survivability, so naturally, it should be on tank gear.
Is it incredibly situational? Yes. Would people rather grab offensive stats? Looks like it. But it doesn't change that it's the only stat that aids survival, so it's going to be on tank gear.
You have better chance of a Potion saving you then Parry.
If Inner Beast still gave 300% damage-as-healing and Souleater healed outside of Grit, I would guess Parry would end up having the least reliable survival benefit for those jobs...Well, it's a tank stat that helps survivability, so naturally, it should be on tank gear.

As it stands though, I don't know why we're getting two different directions of stats in the first place, 3 offensive and 1 defensive (and MT and anti-physical reliant, while unreliable).

I'm actually quite annoyed by the gear completely. The stats are god awful for the tome gear, is there really any need to put parry on near every piece tank loot. Its already been stated that its a terrible designed stat and is going to receive a rework. so why put it on everything when its confirmed to be terrible??? not to mention the gear design itself its just horrid, crafted and tome alike. (obv thats my opinion) but seems to me any tank worth their salt this patch will have to use for the most part crafted gear until they receive the Alexander savage gear. I for one am defo not looking forward to the cost of these. on moogle the tank gear is TRIPLE any other classes gear at the moment.

At this point, I'm almost quite certain that the devs just put the substats in a hat and pick out two for each gear piece.
Dev 1: Alright... Next is the tank tome pants.
Dev 2: *Draws* Lol Parry and accuracy.
Dev 1: Code that shit in!
---
Dev 3: *Sips coffee* I think I forgot to write some DET and CRIT into the hat.
Thank goodness for the hat, the only redeeming piece, even the body is pretty undesirable ... SE is loading tanks up that don't raid with Parry, acc and sks. I feel like it's just a big middle finger since parry hasn't received any changes, acc has no point unless you raid, and sks isn't terrible but I'm pretty sure we don't need to be chock full of it.At this point, I'm almost quite certain that the devs just put the substats in a hat and pick out two for each gear piece.

WAR also go pretty shafted in terms of tome weapon as well, have fun with all that parry and sks.

Seems to me they're trying to sway public opinion by making people who prefer to just grab tome gear get parry, and then maybe they'll do a change in 3.45 to show an updated (Though probably not completely fixed) version of parry when everyone is loaded up on it, while keeping less parry gear on crafted, raid, and high tier raid stuff so that the people who complain about parry (like this very thread) still get their "preferred stats". That's just what it looks like to me, though.
The whole tank gear is trash
SE was like new tank gear parry here parry there wait lets put parry on all the gear

Its a big mistake of SE to put so much parry in tome gear at least if not reworking it first.Yoshi stated that if parry is not going to be changed in 3.4 then it will be most likely change in 4.0. What's the point in boosting a stat that will be reworked after 1 year?
I don't think this is the case tho as they may change it in 3.45 or in 3.5. Anyway, it is really bad news for people who want BiS as they should do AS to its maximum to gear up correctly (so far not a crafted accessory seems to be BiS). For me, its ok since i only do roulettes and would go for gathering stuff mostly (aquarium <3) but... why so much parry SE?![]()
I I'm not familiar with the logic of these devs, but I think making parry available on tome gear is to keep them worth something down the line when parry gets reworked. Its a big mistake of SE to put so much parry in tome gear at least if not reworking it first.Yoshi stated that if parry is not going to be changed in 3.4 then it will be most likely change in 4.0.
