For example, on our server I often seen materia on the MB being sold for 100 or 200 gil. But the same materia sells to vendors for 600+ gil.

That is another thing, though.

Selling on the MB for less than vendor is a "nice" move. If you sell your materias to a vendor, they're just gone.
If you don't need those 600+ gils, you just give "poor" players access to materia for a really cheap price.

The more people buy RMT Gil to pay high prices, the more prices are growing (inflation).

Actually, it's the other way round. You buy gils because the items cost a lot. But there's no reason to ask for such a high price.

It worked in FFXI because, on top of selling gils, RMT linkshells managed to achieve monopoly on some really rare items. So they were able to set a ridiculous price, for which you'd "have" to buy gils. This shouldn't happen in FFXIV, since anyone can supply anyone if they want... There's no reason to even buy gils...

In fact, in buying gils, you just purposely avoid doing things that the game offer...and then come complaining that the game has nothing for you to do

And the prices are so high because people pay them. Even with RMT Gil. If people would not buy them with RMT Gil, the item seller would have to audjust the price down to sell it at all.
