Well the only Samurai in game are the ones in the Heavensturn event. They are from the far east. According to Yoshie-P, Othard is the far east on Hydaelin. So yeah Samurai are definitely from Othard.
This would make a lot of sense tbh. I also believe if people are so tied to jobs needing to be tied to their city state, Samurai's could be a Gyr Abania elite soldier, a bit like how PLD like you mentioned is basically an elite Ul'dah guard. (?) Although no one has agreed with me on that point D: Because NIN and SAM need to be tied together I guess.

Stop thinking on Othard. We are not going to go to that place is a very long time, if thats what happens.
You would prefere to wait until we go to that place to taht Samurai is unlocked? I'm sorry to tell you that the mayority if not almost everything is going to be on dissagreement with you.
Both arguments of Katana and Shippuu have sence and are very solid.
Could very well be a Otharian/Doman trainer who end up on Gyr Arbaria, Mor dhona, etc and wants to teach the samurai skills. If ends to be on one of the new areas of the exansion, could be anything. Most likely perhaps beacuse he wants to help the resistance and doesnt want to see the ala mhigans suffer the same consecuences Doma did? Who knows...

While I do want to go to Othard, this particular argument was against the Samurai being a Gyr Abanian elite soldier. And THAT does not make sense. Because of facts.Stop thinking on Othard. We are not going to go to that place is a very long time, if thats what happens.

Yes, I would prefer to wait till we go there, because I want to go there eventually, and I want at least one job that is tied to the place. I don't believe that is too much to ask. Of course if someone can come up with a new job that really fits Othard, I'm all for that.
That being said, nothing would stop someone from Othard to come to Eorzea. That's what the ninjas did after all. And Yugiri either later or before, depening on when you changed jobs. And Princess Yuki after them. But there is no freakin way the Samurai won't be from Othard. The trainer can be in the freakin Gold Saucer for all I care but it will not be some Ala Mhigan moron.

Dont try to have high expectations for something that may not be seeing in a very long time, like in orther threads were people tend to hold to their Viera theories despite all evidence is agaisnt it LoL.While I do want to go to Othard, this particular argument was against the Samurai being a Gyr Abanian elite soldier. Samurai is for Orthard, like thats too obious since Ninja was from there too. I don not see any reason as why shouldnt be from there.
Why doesnt make sence? Samurai is NOT an elite soldier of ala mhigo, period. But that doesnt mean that its npc trainers cant be there, they may well be there for whatever reason the game's lore puts them on there.

That's exactly what I just said in the last paragraph. Like literally the same thing. Are you trying to troll? Cause it is not a very good attempt.Samurai is for Orthard, like thats too obious since Ninja was from there too. I don not see any reason as why shouldnt be from there.

You seem to be the one that is confusing here...

I didn't know this was factual, my bad!
Edit: I can totally see what Shippu suggested becoming the reality of how SAM will be introduced then.

Aye that would be epic. A story in which one of the Doman refugees sparing with Hoary Boulder teaches the Domn kids aswell as Ala Mhigo resistance fighters the art of Samurai would practically write it's self.

A lone trainer, the Warrior of Light and 45 other people made up of Doman and Ala Mhigan refugees. As one version.

actually it will make a lot of sense, since the resistance don't have really any trainer left, the doman training them is perfectly possible.
