FFXIV 2nd expansion: Viera-like race still a possibility?

Wanna try something fun in this vein? I went through basically all of heavensward wearing a full faced mask (and tbh was annoyed whenever it was forced off my character). It's really funny whenever it's suppose to be a really emotional or startling scene and my character is ovo due to the mask.

All things considered, I dunno, usually when we see Lalafell smiling it's because they've been plotting how to throw us in jail. And there are plenty of ways to make a "smile" occur that ain't just your lips curling up. I think using some anthromorphic liberties you could easily make the Lizard in the bottom right all teary eyed and smiling.

Plus the Lizard can totally be a emotional and engaging hero even if they're scary looking. With a bit more effort on the dev's part, is fully plausible to have a bit ol' beastily scary-looking hero. I mean heck, they've made a race that looks like a bunch of toddlers into backstabbing capitalist opportunists.

I actually tried to screen cap that particular scene with the Vath helm on. Just to prove how silly it would look, lo and behold the expression was something the developers felt needed to be shown.

The Ghost costume (and anything else that uses five slots) is probably the only gear in the game that will keep your face hidden. The sad ghost would probably make for a tragically funny scene... as would the happy evil ghost.

No matter what race we get its gonna look human... We arent gonna have beast legs we are gonna have maws... We arent gonna have huge claws.. Its NOT happening. So from that stand point i want as many different animal parts available as possible so i say yes to Viera. Yes to Zora types yes to everything cause i want some diversity im tired of nothing but cat girls and au ra girls

In one particular scene we are told "Oh do not look at me so... a smile better suits a hero." Objectively, honestly who among these could even produce the semblance of a comforting smile?

And why on earth do we as players get all those emotions and actions forced on us...?

That's what peeves me the most. At this point, they might as well give our character a canon voice and set a canon class to use in action scenes because they're already controlling everything else for us. Sorry, no identification here - I'm not getting a say in anything that matters.

Because the story is already set in stone and whatever you could do or say would be useless. The WOL is pretty much their own character at this point; we just dressed them up the way we like.

Well we need to have two arms and two legs. For gear, riding, dancing and for combat animations. Your monk needs to kick so you can't be a Lamia.
We also need a face to use all the facial expressions.
We also need to have hair cause it would be unfair to lock out the new race from all the hairstyle options.
We can't belong to any of the established beast tribes for story reasons.

Well that doesn't leave us with much. Guess the Hummingway are still our best chance. Although I wouldn't mind and aquatic race. Or a plant race. Or an aquatic plant race.

In other words we're Cloud and Yoshi P is Sephiroth, except we fully accept our fate with Sephiroth like in some yaoi fanfiction horror story.

Oh, well, Sephiroth calls Cloud a puppet alot so I'm saying we're versions of cloud but we accept what Sephiroth says like submissive masochists instead of rebelling like in the original story of FF7.
