It exists because a lot of people have brought up some very valid points and concerns. For the most part people have been respectful and what few individuals have stepped over the line are very much in the minority - and I can't help but wonder why you wish to stifle debate and discussion entirely simply because of the actions of a handful of posters...?

But that's part of the socio-political game, isn't it? Someone posts something someone dislikes thus every person with that opinion must be a 'bigot' and silenced! It does grow rather tiresome - especially when it's dubious as to whether or not the socio-political issues should have as much sway as those pushing them believe. Catering to minorities is fine and encouraged - catering to them above and beyond the majority, however, isn't - because that just skews things in the opposite direction. Balance is key - and as far as I'm concerned anybody who cannot see that should not be getting involved in complex socio-political issues in the first place.

Can we please leave tumblr's rhetoric where it belongs? People have brought up perfectly valid complaints. Glamour is all about aesthetics after all. Some people prefer a certain style that isn't readily common in FFXIV, thus they ask about it. Likewise, I want to see better form fitted armour models. My poor hyur is swallowed by most. None of that is sexist or bigoted.

"Certain style" being male clothing, in this instance? Like idk but throughout my playthrough so far, there are so many options for male wear that actually looks masculine that I don't even understand why the complaint was brought up.

If you are talking about more effeminate armor, then maybe yeah that's legit, even though that entire direction kind of runs the risk of being abused to lines of 'bikini armor' that's so disgustingly common in games, though that's me being pessimistic and I think the dev team has proven they have somewhat of an open mind about stuff like this.

PS comparing any post that describes systematic social issues to "tumblr" is the most boring, eye-rolling card anyone who lacks social awareness can pull. Don't do it.

I am not intending this thread to insult people. It is just an issue occurred where my nephews were going to play ff with me noticed the little lady's day event and looked up the outfits in the game. Now they are telling me they are not going to play the game with me because it is too girly. Are we going a bit too far in the aesthetics department of design as of late in this depiction that would cause a lot of male players not to even try this game?

Maybe not feminine, but maybe um....weak? The events look nice but thats it. Kinda like that game, Journey. Its meant to look pretty with little to no effort from the player, but thats in hindsight when your not playing the game. Don't get me wrong the game is pretty lax when it comes to enemy threats and danger when your in the open world, but then your character is somewhat rendered nearly useless in dungeons. I think your nephews are looking for something more rough and exciting. Recommend Guild Wars 2, WildStar (If they're playing together) or maybe Tera. XIV focuses too much on Sonic Rush logic. AKA "Don't be more than yourself, ask friends for help!" or as Sonic would less blatantly say "Just be yourself, cower in fear and ask me for help!" ~Roger Van Winkle- ...something.

Thanks for proving my point. Your intention is to stifle debate by brushing every single poster with an opposing viewpoint as 'unreasonable' and 'whiny'. If you cannot see why that is false or a problem then there's little point in engaging you. It isn't at all surprising, though, by any means - as I stated in my previous post it's par the course for a troubling number of those throwing their weight behind 'social justice'.
