This mentality is so horrible and toxic. No wonder new players have such a hard time.Long story short, this kind of scenario is a usual occurrence in leveling dungeons. I queue for random leveling dungeon. We end up in cutter's cry with this guy who is playing a level 40 LNC (yep, not DRG), in early 30s gear (his main weapon was even worse) who died like 8 times because he didn't even bother to dodge basic AoE attacks. Didn't know a single boss fight. Died 3 times during the chimera fight. His excuse? "first run!"
Now I know that there some new players who actually do look up basic dungeon tactics before queueing and I know that people make mistakes (I make plenty of mistakes myself). But when someone obviously does not give enough crap to look up their class or a basic dungeon run. Why would me or anyone else want them to get carried to 60 and continue doing the same thing?

Hyperbole. The only new players who have a tough time are those who don't seem to read, or do everything the game casually tells them. OP stated this LNC was wearing shoddy gear and a very bad weapon. If this player was doing their MSQ, they'd have decent gear and a decent weapon. Now, messing up in Chimera can be forgiven, since its main deadly attacks aren't telegraphed (though if this was explained and they died without trying to avoid it anyway, then they weren't listening to helpful advice and only use 'first time' as an excuse; hoping that will save them from criticism, or from being kicked). Also, since they were a level 40 LNC, this can mean they never did their Class quests (which I believe the game reminds you to do every five levels), or they couldn't be bothered levelling a secondary Class to level 15.
Just because someone is new, doesn't mean they should be given special "it's okay to carry them" treatment. I was new at one point, but I at least tried to be a team player.
