Veteran rewards going away make other items obtainable

Let's put it this way, those mount and minions are for people who have played since 1.0. Have you played 1.0? No? I guess not entitled to it then?
I want the Cat Sith minion so badly and my FC mate makes it a habit to show it to me at every chance he gets. Obviously, there's no way for me to obtain it now.
I'm as much a mount and minion collector, but I don't go around demanding SE put items into cash shop (ESPECIALLY items that were EXCLUSIVE to people who have played and rewarded for their loyalty since 1.0).

At the very most, SE *might* give in and put up a recolour/reskin minion/mount thingamajick, but I certainly don't expect and hope they don't make those exclusives suddenly available to everyone.

Since you are making the veteran rewards go away because it is unfair for others to catch up for not playing since launch I think it is only fair to also make the 1.0 Goobue mount and the GC chocobo also available due to the fact it is unobtainable and ruins the gaming experience for everyone who doesn't have them.

Wait until you can join a Grand Company, then you can buy one with GC seals, too

I'm a collector and can understand the feeling of other collectors that joined late this game.
For some collectors, a reskinned mount wouldn't be the same since it has a different meaning.

Yet, we played 1.0 and payed an unfinished game because we wanted it to be a good game, so I can understand the gratitude SE gave to us.

On the other hand, I understand other people that didn't even have a chance to get them because real life stuff... I wouldn't mind if people were able to get them from special quests, mog station or whatever. It would be not exclusive, but I'm ok, we got other stuff like cheaper fees, special tatoo etc...

Not all vintage items are available at antique stores. There will be some that are impossible to get simply because they are no longer manufactured. You could, if you were dedicated enough find someone that would be willing to sell something rare, but you'd never get it from the manufacturer. Unless the manufaturers choose to make limited editions.

With that in mind, you could, if you were dedicated enough, find someone who hasn't used their download code yet and negotiate a price with them. However, you would not be able to purchase it from the manufacturer (Square Enix), unless SE decides to make them available to you.

It would probably be better to drop the entire comparison because digital items do not follow the same rules as physical ones.If you have a car and want a second, identical one, you have to do the full production process again in the physical world. In the digital world, you copy and paste or just increase an integer. Storing two physical cars requires twice the area, whereas you can have 99 digital cars all in the same spot. Re-creating an old car only requires copying and pasting old source code, whereas in the physical world, you'd have to re-create the tools with which the item was first created, then the methods, the materials and, well, yeah.

You get the idea. The only thing keeping a digital good "rare" are the rights protecting it - if you allowed people to replicate it, they would and with such low cost that everyone would not only get one, but more copies than they could ever need. In many cases, you'd even get it for free.

How can "unobtainable" (they are not completely unobtainable) items ruining someones gaming experience by not having them? Most of them are just glamour gear, which doesnt influence the overall gaming experience.

In fact, we (veterans, no matter if 1.0 or 2.0) supporting the game much longer than any other new player. We deserved our veteran rewards! If you want that Cloud Strife gear so badly, then you have to pay for 720 days, sorry.

In all seriousness, people like you and all of those who ask for the same kind of entitlement only got result on matters that would not hinder too much, what you ask is to remove the veteran system itself, which is a major income source, many people buy months and months worth of sub just to get their item, I doubt SE would comply to any demand that would make them lose potential money, business wise it is silly, SE provides us with a service of entertainment, they are by no means required to give in to your childish demands, much less if it includes loss for them, SE is a company, not your parent nor your teacher.

Promotional events exists to entice you to buy more and obtain your fidelity, turning back on that would mean the loss of fidelity of those who gave their trust in there, and while it is no guarantee that they are not likely to change their stance, it is reason enough for you to make a choice, either you accept it and buy what you wish to obtain, or you don't and deal with not having your prize.

Man I only had planned to post that little joke and ended up getting quite carried away XD all in all, while I don't approve of the mob station, I still thing being entitled like this only makes it worse for yourself, it's not like you'll die if you don't have that cloud outfit right now, just be patient, veteran is a reward for your loyalty, not an optional service, keep playing and you'll eventually obtain it
