I was in a party with my linkshell and we were going through the kobold stronghold and found it near impossible because we'd have to fight 3-4 of them but then an additional 2-3 would aggro from behind the gates or on the opposite side of the room. So after we'd have killed the original mobs more have respawned on us or behind us and then linked again.
I guess the linking would be less of a problem if the respawns weren't so terribly fast. But is there any chance of seeing the link range reduced? Or having mobs not be allowed to link from behind closed doors that we can't get past until the mobs in front are defeated.

Yea there it's buggy at Stronghold at the moment, we had Flamefist and Burn Brother/Sisters Linked with other Amal'jaa through gate. Only real issue I have with it at the moment (haven't fought much since patch) is mobs waiting until low health to decide they're past their leash, then running back and linking extra enemies, who then all do the same thing, repeat until dead. . .
Find a good spot and roam around with it. Sleep unwanted parties. Rinse. I survived Kobold encampment just fine with a pickup party. It was actually great EXP and a lot of fun.
Yes, but if you're going after the NM the LINK beyond gate is quite irritating. Had to have ~4 full parties rushing to kill both the LINK NM + minions + gate keeper + Amal'jaa and Drake outside. It was very messy, like 40 players and 30 mobs dishing it out >_>
