Okay. I'm just curious; IF they only introduce 1,536 apartments per server to start, how do you think they'll implement it, given that we already know the buildings are built into the ward maps?

That part would be easy considering they'd just set the npc/elevator/etc that directs someone to the rooms to call that specific information up regardless of ward location.

A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.

We'll use the Mist as an example. I imagine the apartment building in which all 512 Mist apartments are located can be entered from any of it's various exteriors placed in each division of the Mist. But when exiting the apartment building you will choose which division you wish to go to, exactly like you do if you were to go to the Mist front gate from Lower La Noscea.
Admittedly I didn't consider that, but it still doesn't lend itself to a consistent and user-friendly experience, which is just one of many reasons to expect the buildings to be instanced just like everything else in the wards has always been. They have no reason to err so much on the side of caution now - not for the backlash it would (unfortunately) result in, and it's simply logical to assume that they'll re-use private chamber infrastructure anyway. We have next to no reason to believe they'll do otherwise.

I agree. We'll have to wait and see. As it stand with no actual confirmation on just how many apartments will in fact be added, those who will feel the need to complain that 1,536 isn't enough be that the number we're getting are definitely complaining prematurely at the least. People are jumping the gun. Let's at least see what's actually happening before we decide to complain right? xDAdmittedly I didn't consider that, but it still doesn't lend itself to a consistent and user-friendly experience, which is just one of many reasons to expect the buildings to be instanced just like everything else in the wards has always been. I believe the green/red names mean that plot is either open for visitors, or closed for visitors.
Yeah, it's technically possible for the apartments in each ward to pull up the same list of 512 rooms to visit.
I still hope for more...
