There's a LOT of games coming in the next few months that will pull me away from the game. I guess it will be back to "Login, cap tomes, log out" once the new patch hits late Sept.

burnout=take a break.
I do it all the time from all the games I dabble in and its healthy to do so imo.
Games need to remain relaxing entertainment, not become a job , stressful, nor the #1 social thing you do.
Breaks are 100% ok

Take a break.
Don't do dailies every day if they are boring you.
Well, in 2.x it was a weekly quest, where you had to do three 24 mans and that's what it's gonna to be again.
Also tome weapons: With the old 2.x model you would had been only able to get it from A7S (3.3) and only by now (3.35) we would be able to get it by a 24 man or something similar.
The tome weapons available for non-raiders on even patches is a new HW thing.

Whenever I am burnt out on anything I just take a break. Like when doing my monologues....and practicing my acting lines, I can only do it so much before I get burnt out on it and have to take a break...I do 2 hours a day of practice maximum...until the next day. I know my limits ^_^
But with a video game? I dunno, I've never really had that problem..I play them in moderation, so that has never happened. I just play when I feel like and have some free time...and/or when my buddies are playing. If you do anything 24-7 you're bound to get sick of it. (Not saying you are playing XIV that much but..) even back when I was hardcore in XI, I still took breaks from that game and playing Lineage II or other games (Aion, random free mmos back then, etc lol)
I'm I suppose to be thankful? I'm looking at Eso tier and they improved in everything you mentioned. And now they are now making it worse.Well, in 2.x it was a weekly quest, where you had to do three 24 mans and that's what it's gonna to be again.

As majority have already said, it helps to focus on other things aside from playing FFXIV. I do not play other mmorpg, but there are alot of handheld and console/PC games that one can play. You can also go outside or focus on another hobby. I do not know how many hours a day you play, but the more you play, the faster you will get a burnout.
My advice is to log off and not play FFXIV for 2 months, if possible do not return untill 3.5. You will come back with a fresh mindset, no burnout and there will be alot of content for you to clear. Personaly, I am considering taking a break untill 3.5 aswell, only going to return for events. Alot of games will be released between now and 3.5, alot of people are back at work or going back to school. With no new content untill 3.4 which will take alteast a month, this would be a good time for you to take a break.
Another advice is to do other content that you normaly avoid, but personaly, I think a time of FFXIV would do you well. Your character will still be here, your friends and FC/LS members will understand and catching up (unless you are raiding) is very easy in this game. I quit for 6 months once and was able to catch up within 2 weeks, so do not worry. Its best to remember FFXIV as a fun game that you enjoy, then keep playing and hate it.
Whatever you do, I wish you alot of luck.![]()
