The anima step is now what it should have been from the very beginning.

Nerfed to oblivion.

Ehh, I wouldn't go that far. This more or less turns the 210 Step into a complete joke. Fine when it's nine months old, but had they done it initially, you'd basically have a Savage equivalent weapon for a fraction of the effort. That being said, pre-nerf was far too monotonous.
This is the reason they make it time consuming.Ehh, I wouldn't go that far. This more or less turns the 210 Step into a complete joke. A4S was broken in mechanics, and A3S was brutally difficult, balance is required in content when comparing similar Ilevels from different areas in content. Releasing a weapon with the same Ilevel as the Raid Weapon and it's simple to get compared to the Raid weapon will ruin the game for the majority of raiders. It will remove the whole point of even doing it.
Edit: The main reason why they moved the Raid weapons back to 5 Ilevels higher compared to highest weapons in the current content. Working down a Raid boss isn't as easy as it looks when you attempt to progress the final floors. Well, ignoring this current Raid patch (Except A8S) and Final Coil.

I won't be. I don't want the relic weapons, any of them in fact. I happen to think the relics for my main jobs (pld and drk) are absolutely hideous and as a result I don't want them. That being said, I did look in to the grind for the relic out of curiosity and I stand by my assertion that the 200 -> 210 step was absolutely ridiculous along with the fact that SE took the player feedback on NOT making the relic too grindy and threw it in to a furnace.
200>210 was exactly as it should have been seeing as the reward was a raid level weapon, and in some cases a best in slot weapon. If the final phase of anima is equal to the final raid weapon just like the zeta was, expect the most hellish step yet.I won't be. I don't want the relic weapons, any of them in fact. I believe this is the wrong mindset to have in regards to the relic. I'm going to go ahead and say it, it being equal to a raid weapon at that early point in the xpac is irrelevant (not to mention the fact that if you were a raider you got the 210 weapon way before the relic was out anyway and since you got it first, people having a 210 weapon later shouldn't matter), the relic steps should have been designed on the time of release, i.e. the first relic steps should have had an incremental difficulty increase from the beginning and gotten harder later. The excessive and painful grind should be saved for the mid to late stages, the earliest stages (up to the 210 point) should have been the easiest out of all them and THEN ramped up as you went to the 230 and to the 240.
