i like the idea op suggests, i ve been on the two sides of the coin, i started playing back at 2.2 and was able to do content as was intended, then created another character back at 3.0 and then, it turned impossible to run things, nobody wants to run synced as there is no reward (i do, i only play the game for the little challenge it can offer, lets face it ff xiv its a very easy and simple game) as for some arguments i ve seen here:
"find a pf or fc that helps you": i couldnt convince my fc to help me synced, imagine to convince random strangers, some like the challenge but they simply wont waste their time for no chance of reward for a stranger.
"the new tomestones would force players to do that content": not really, the idea of those new tomes would be to add a new alternate way to get things (not to eliminate the ones existing), actually you can get great equipment from savage and as for weapons goes, you can use savage or relic and be good, this would represent another alternative to those and of course each piece would require lots of tomes so it would still be convenient to do savage more than this roulettes (but its an option to people like me that like to run every content as hardcore as possible).
"use df": not too much people (waits of 2hs or more) and if it pops most of the people will be new.....disaster; the idea op suggests is not only for new people to do content as was intended but for those of us who enjoyed it back then to be able to re do it without being a cake and getting rewarded in the process, in other words just as some of you choose to get equiped doing savage (or void arks, or relics or etc) i choose geting equiped by doing every type of raid at the maximun difficulty possible while giving an opportunity to the newcomers to do it as well.
this way lots of people who would like to play the content (new or old) but doesnt feel like it because its unrewarding and time consuming will be able to do it.
