    Maybe have the second round of cards have a royal road effect on the first round of cards?

    So like if there's an AOE balance in effect and then the other AST puts up an aoe Spear, the balance already in play will have its remaining duration doubled. This would make ewers and Spires work like a support version of Arcanists Bane, spreading any card effects in use.

    Honestly I suspect this is an intentional design choice by SE to make sure that double AST is never the preferred composition.

    AST really has lots of problems when it comes to various abilities of theirs (seemingly arbitrarily) not being stackable with other similar abilities, whether it's from another AST or even similar things from other classes, when previous healer classes had fewer issues in that regard.

    I can see why they wouldn't let multiples of the same card be stackable, but it's got to be infuriating when some other ASTclown in your party keeps overwriting your buffed up Balances with his AoE Spears or something.

    Its pretty dumb. Also its stupid how every white mage can have their own regen on a target, but astro aspected benefics dont stack like that.

    This is mostly because AST has two sects: Nocturnal and Diurnal.

    If you get two ASTs in the group there is no reason for both to be Diurnal or both Nocturnal. They should always be opposite sects (one Noct and one Diur) to work together with highest efficiency since Noct and Diur stuff does stack with each other.

    When you get two WHMs in the group they have no stances to change to so to penalize them just because they happen to DF and get two wouldn't be a good thing to do.

    AST only gets those penalties if the ASTs refuse to do opposite sects, but even so outside of Savage Raids or current extreme primals it probably wouldn't matter.

    This is why you hold the card until the others gone or give it to another dps. If it's an expanded card it'd only last about 25s or so (not looking at the stats atm) so it isn't hard to hold the card for about 20s

    I wish the cards had a bigger focus, for AST, in general. Like, reduce the cooldowns on Draw, Redraw, Spread, and Royal Road. Allow same-effect cards to stack, but reduce the buff potency to accommodate the change. Perhaps change up royal road a little too. Extended we'll keep the same, Enhanced adds +2 to stack on a single target(instead of +150% potency), and Expanded adds +1 to stack with AoE (without reduced 50% potency). Card effects would have a max duration of 1 minute and max stack 5. This would prevent pre-buffing to some insane duration. I would like to suggest some additional effects be added to some abilities that use the card in the spread, but that might be going too far.

    I really enjoy this job, but the cards feel like a gimmick instead of a focus. Touching a card every 30s and maybe not even buffing anyone for an entire minute+ is a real drag.
