    stop copying idea's from ffxi
nothing is wrong with FFXI this must be your first FF game because they re-use classes theres alot of classes and we only have a fraction and thats counting ffxi & ffxiv jobs/classes. i rather have it be FFXI-2 than WoW-2 or if you really want them to stick it to you they can make it insanely hard and name it Everquest-SquareEnix edition

to make my point more clearer, what made this game Unique prior the patches is that it took a different sail direction then most mmo had, like making the armoury system, physical lvl and new named jobs.now i hate where this is going because in all honesty its molded into a typical ffxi.Yeah i know ff jobs are the bread and butter of the series but why in the first place make released classes like conj and gladiator in the first place when it is a FF games?

PS: to all the people assumed i didn't know about ff games, i know and i played every ff game except 4,5 and 6

@Felis is it like branching to other classes? and thanks for clarifying

@whoopeeragon if it improves gameplay then yeah but i dislike copying idea's, instead why not create idea's that differ then the other typical mmorpgs?

And it is different. What other MMORPG lets you switch out of jobs/classes on-the-go? What other MMORPG has both a way to have both specialised and versatile role to choose from? What other MMORPG lets you create your own diverse character profile based on your player-driven choices to such an extent as this? It's not copying ideas if they're building up from the groundwork they've laid for this game.

Have you not read other people's topic? Jobs are not 'copying' ideas; they have been a stable of the Final Fantasy series. It's HOW they use it which is different; in this case, being a specialised role for people to take advantage of in dynamic gameplay is nothing similar at all to the sub-job system of FFXI. Heck, the armoury system resembles the sub-job system more than the Job system does at the moment regarding information given to us.

And your post seems to make no sense. You ask why SE put Conjurer and Gladiator in if jobs are a stable (which is because they wanted something different but still has roots in those roles, obviously), then complain that they're putting jobs in? What? I repeat; the jobs in FFXI are totally different from what jobs are meant to be in FFXIV, as of current information. That they're the same name is of no use; their final basis is different in application and usage.

I am also dissappoint when hear the new job too...where is RED MAGE !? (have not play FFXI before but I want this class in FFXIV, saw a red mage concept art, I am sure red mage will lok better with FFXIV graphic)

ninja edit: I dont think the name of class will make it FFXI-2, the different that count are skill and play style and system, cos the name of class can be reuse every where

They tried somthing else unique as well, you know the market wards, everyone was saying they didnt get the FF feel with this game which was not there, Tanaka tried a differant aproach and it didnt work so Yoshi-P has to fix it.

Also if using jobs is copying FFXI (even though its not) then omg chocobos is copying FFXI, caravan escourts is copying every game, OMG YOUR JOKING WE HAVE FIGHTING WE ARE COPYING WOW, /sigh this game is becoming WoW-2 because we fight in it.

You cant make these stupid clames about one feature and that its "becoming FFXI-2" when it is nothing like FFXI. Jobs are not copying ideas they are bringing the FF to the game, which it was lacking before this patch.

PS OMG we have ifrit what a low level fight and a high level fight JUST LIKE FFXI its becoming a WoFFXI-2, you see how easy it is to say this about one feature???

Gimme blue mage. I'd love to hold out, prolonging the fights, hoping the lil buggers will pull off that skill i need to aquire, then shove it back in their face when i aquire it.

Jobs aren't making this game ffxi..... its making it FF.

You're in for a very long wait as we don't eve have the story that basically tells us "Yes you, player, can summon primals!" Even now we're basically slaughtering them so it's safe to say it will be a very long wait if at all.

It's just a shame most skills used by enemies in this game are so damn boring, or I'd be totally behind blue mage at this point.

Doesn't the story specifically state that we have the potential to summon them? It's more that you'd bind yourself to one primal and hate all the others, though that could change in the future. I could see it turning into some situation where we slay the primals then revive them at a later point to help vs. the Garleans and dalamud or whatever, under the condition they help us... Purely a guess at this point.
