Tattoo on the back for all players?

I am a legacy player, I have the tattoo.

I am perfectly fine with and welcome the option for players to get tattoos as an option as part of character creation / the aesthetician as long as the design of the legacy mark remains untouched / unavailable to newer players for both the lore and company promise related reasons.

Historically I have seen more players on the forum who are non legacy making a bigger deal out of the whole issue than the legacy players and your specific comments in the rest of your post do very little to change that impression.

I personally don't want a tattoo. My hubby says he'd love one. Maybe it's just been the vocal minority, but i just find it ridiculous.

Most people who have an issue is people who don't have the tattoo, a slight minority of people with the tattoo give an attitude.

We are asking for more toon customization without asking for THAT particular brand (still like the idea of job tattoo *.*) and most of the legacy here seems ok with that when those against are, most of the time "new players" (like in no 1.0) so it has me wondering, maybe the legacy players want some more designs too ? ^^
And how is it that you guys don't care about us "stealing" (like it's implied in some posts) something from you -again, not the brand, the idea of tattoo- when those who could benefit from this addition are against it ?

(by the way, do you guys can remove it or hide it or are you "forced" to keep it all the time ?)

The special snowflakes wanting the customisation of the player character's back to be exclusive to them is incredibly selfish.

Ok, another suggestion:
The 1.0 mark get moved to both upper arms, and the other players can use the back spot but not the upper arms.

You didn't have to pay money to get the tattoo.

I don't think they should move the brand's place just for "us" to be abble to use the back, why not just have a list of available tattoo let says 10 for everyone +1 for the legacy players so they can choose between the brand or a new one ? Some legacy players might prefer another tattoo after all.
I mean, if you don't like a tattoo anymore you can always remove it (no need for lasers in a world you can magicaly teleport ^^") so they could, lets say use magic to turn the brand into another if they want to of course.

Of course, the best option would be to be abble put tattoos everywhere, it could even allow legacy player to move the brand to a spot they would see it without being naked ^^

A) It's not legacy players who are against this, it is a mix of all players, please keep your insults to yourself, you are building a reputation for yourself right there, not the legacy players.

B) Your argument seems to be like this actually:

You: I want that thing designed for legacy players
Counter arguement from a mix of players: No, it's designed as a reward for legacy players
You: Omg, they are such special snowflakes, they did nothing and I deserve it as much as them, I'm so hard done by

Do us all a favour and grow up. I'll bring up preorder bonuses and merchandise bonuses with limited runs. These things are meant to be limited and exclusive, that is not a bad thing, and it significantly devalues the original exclusive to bring out a "blue cait sith" or another moogle suit because somebody cried on the forums.




Also to everyone else, there is no point speculating or designing ways that a tattoo system would work around this. Tattoos as a whole are taboo in Japan, with them usually being linked with criminal activity, or even yakuza. I don't think the dev team (as a Japanese company) would take a western viewpoint on them (hence why the 1.0 symbol is a burned on brand, not a tattoo), and would likely not add them for that reason.

I'm pretty much indifferent about tattoos on our characters. I am ok if they add them or don't add them. I don't see tattoos in other places or designs as stealing from us. If they added tattoos, I would prefer that they are not of similar design or placement to the mark of the twelve that we have. It's not a tattoo per se, like other people have added, it is a mark from when Loiusoix used his magic on us at the end of 1.0.

The mark can be hidden.

You're barking up the wrong tree here. I am a legacy player, with tattoo, and I've already said that I would be perfectly fine unlocking tattoos and even the desirable back spot to everyone! But I mean, keep on going down the insult path if you want. That's totally how you win people over.

Excactly, can't we just quit with calling names to each others and have a constructive debat regarding this ? Or just agree that we are all special snowflakes and built a snow man together (a tatooed snow man, of course )

And on the flip-side of your argument, it's quite selfish for people to expect to be handed a reward given to others for absolutely no other reason than "I want it".

Not as selfish as 2.0 players demanding to be given something that is specifically a reward for something they did not do.

Legacy players received an exclusive customisation option, not exclusive rights to certain parts of the player character's body.
