    Hope looks bleak and my $40 might never return...

    Alright so, on saturday I bought Heavensward on the SE store without knowing that it would be incompatible with the steam version of the game, which I have. I've requested a refund, gotten denied. Went to reddit, two people said they might/do have a code, one didn't talk to me again and the other didn't have a code.I don't have enough of a following on Deviantart to get commission requests so I can make back my lost money. After all this happened someone on reddit pointed out that SE says on the HW site that the store and steam code/game are incompatible with each other. All of this has resulted in a feeling of idiocy and hopelessness for my situation. I was just wondering if anyone here could give any advice/help to me and my predicament...

    A lot of people who had the same problem when it first came out managed to get a refund on the game and bought the other. No idea when they stopped doing that.

    Call them and yell at them. They'll probably refund it. It's their dumb fault that stuff is incompatible anyway so just yell at them until you get a refund or a code that'll work.

    It is strange that you got denied, I have been accepted for cheekier thing (I accidentally bought seekers of alduin standalone, without knowing the only copy of the original XI that you can buy contained that expansion), I would try to appeal your refund or even ask if it is possible to exchange your copy for a steam code. A bit of information which might help is the age of the code, and if it has been used (not likely), if it is a brand new code then I don't see what the issue they have is.

    Do they have a phone number? On the store's "Contact Us" section, which isn't even a section, only had a link to a form to send an email.

    310-846-0345 according to some post I found. Just called it and it sounds like general SE support. They should be able to point you in the right direction. It's open like 8-6 Monday-Friday Pacific time.

    I was one of the replies to your Reddit thread. o/

    I made the same mistake right after Heavensward came out. I called, they said no. I called again, still no. I decided to sit through chat support instead, and someone finally took pity and issued me a full refund. They can and will do it for you, I just think you've had bad luck with the individuals you spoke with. Persistence pays off. Don't give up just yet! I highly recommend being polite rather than rude as someone else stated, though. As a customer service rep myself, it's much more likely for me to do someone a favor if they're kind towards me, and I'm sure the reps feel the same. Good luck! (:

    Chat support you say? IF I assume correctly you must mean the chat support on the Heavensward support page. I've gone to the chat twice because of my... dislike of calls and vocal chats. But they've directed me to the store support each time which I've only found an email support for. Perhaps these reps are not showing me the entire picture? Or perhaps you're talking about a different chat support?

    It was a live chat support that I had to wait in a queue for. It may have been a Heavenward release kind of thing, but I'll check through my emails and see if I can find exactly where I went through.

    I cannot edit my post on mobile, but I found the old emails! Apparently the chat didn't work, either. HOWEVER!! I emailed store support, got a generic reply, and resent them my issue and request for a refund. "Xavier" issued me a full refund and cancelled my order.
