WoW opened its cash shop around three years ago but was running this game without one for 7 years or more, so even if they have more mounts in it (which is only four more than FF14 including the wedding mount) they took way longer to include their cash shop in their game than FF14 did.

I would be kinda okay with the CS if they would put the money back into the game (which none of us know if they do that or not) and that we would get even more content with it. Like three dungeons and something new on top of that..not suddenly two dungeons and a new thing. Its just that right know it feels like that money is used to finance other SE projects and not the game itself and that we get less now than more. (But these are no facts just my feelings on this..)
What I don't get is the bolded part. I understand the "feeling" statement, just so we're clear, though it does have its own contradictions lol. Why is it that you don't apply that same bolded argument towards XIV? None of the cash shop items are mandatory. My only guess is that it's because you play this game (and maybe not the others... or if you do, you prioritize this one over the others), and thus equal reasoning doesn't apply.

Also keep in mind that microtransactions are a recent practice. WoW took so long to do it because, for starters, the internet itself wasn't as mainstream to do purchasing until within the last decade. It's very easy for people to overlook that fact. We're at a point where cash shop practice (and DLC) IS the current standard with online games, whether you agree with it or not.
