It's the PLAYERS that either don't understand what was intended, or are displeased with the result. Personally, I'm fine with it; I consider the hovering drone a cool bit of sci-fi/fantasy that fits the Machinist aesthetic well. Others disagree - but I think many of them are simply too rooted in the idea of an attachment that's, well, actually attached.

The problem is that it hovers inconsistently to the point that it makes no sense even by game standards, and at the same time looks incredibly out of place. You have folding guns that won't work, shell-covered guns. It's working as they intended for it to be and at the same time, they don't care for how it turns out. None of the weapons even felt like it was designed with GB in mind, not even the iconic eso weapons.

And no, it's not a drone. They straight up call it an attachment, by both the game and as what we were told by the MCH previews. I mean this is semantics but it doesn't change how the ability is intended to interact with the job and it's purpose. Like I mentioned earlier, it doesn't make sense to say that "well it hovers like this because our turrets hover", because they are two different tools that function differently. You wouldn't say that a humming bird and a pigeon flies in the same fashion, or even be capable of hovering. When I'm told that it is an attachment (and for all intents and purposes, it's referred to as such by the game) I'd expect to to be reasonably attached or even magnetically attached to my weapon, not hover half a lalafell distance away from it and look incredibly unwieldy when I run with it. At that point they couldn't even bother to adjust the guess barrel distance for each model of the gun.

Of course I'm going to be angry and upset that it's not a :true attachment", because it is literally what we were previewed and promised to be the iconic skill/mechanic for MCH; the use of multiple attachments, turrets and ammunition to deal damage. Even the novelty of it being an "attachment" is lost because WM does the exact same thing.

I liked the idea more of your charge came from your lunchbox taking longer to draw in aether for a shot. Would of made sense in the lore and developers did not have to deal with the GB aesthetic. I think the GB aesthetic only exists because players were expecting MCH to have attachments. They scrap how they originally wanted attachments to be, but decided to use it for the MCH version of WM.

Sure we got a feature to not have it show, but others should not have to look at that ugly thing on my gun. They should add in to not have anyone else see it.

For the Yo-Kai gun, it is doing the same exact thing as the Ferdinand gun. Floats in the air. I wouldn't have as much an issue with the GB aesthetic if they actually made it match each gun. Aesthetically is looks fine on some guns, but the majority of guns coming out it looks awkward at best.

Somewhat. I get that it's a bit unreasonable to do different modeled attachments for each gun, but honestly if they can go out of their way to make specific quivers and arrows for the bows, you'd think they would do the same for MCH guns, (at least the lunchbox). They had mentioned that they scrapped the idea of multiple attachments (which honestly was my interest point of MCH, having different attachments for different needs, like aoe wepaonskills or high DPS/High TP cost, etc) because it would have been troublesome making attachments for each gun. What doesn't make sense to me is that they decided to go with gauss barrel looking the same (including the "attach" distance) for every single gun... why couldn't they have done just that for 2-3 other attachments?

As I mentioned earlier, GB doesn't even feel like an "attachment" as opposed to a "buff skill" because WM does exactly the same thing, and imho the mechanic of having instant-cast on weaponskill procs kind of defeat the purpose of GB to begin with.

Since some people apparently don't seem to know, right now Japan is going bananas for Yo-kai franchise and it's recently been more popular than Pokemon in Japan, though that may not be the case anymore with Pokemon Go.

It's really easy to have guns have a set max length then have the Gauss Barrel float past that length than to have stuff like barrels and scopes change around since those are part of the actual gun model and would have to take that into account... so the attachments would have to float too otherwise it would severely limit the designs they could use for guns since specific parts would always have to be in the same position. Or it would require a lot of extra work to make sure everything fits on each and every gun model.

Lmao what at ignorant thing to say. You think that one event item not being perfect at release is the indicator of a low point? It's really that important to you? Curious why you'd even continue playing the game then if not just for something to bitch about.

Guys.... I'm here with the answer to why this is all happening....

    PS2 limitations!

I don't know why anyone is surprised that this is how this particular gun looks. Is this the gun that is the last straw? We all decided it I guess so it's true then right? I'm going to try that at the next crosswalk. I'm going to decide the light says "walk" when it doesn't and go for it. I will run out into the street and show everyone that I decide how things are.
