If grinding for MGP wasn't so boring, I'd agree.
Personally, I think putting them as rewards for unique quest lines (specific to the character in question) would be great, and the best option. I'm always up for learning more about the story characters and it definitely sounds more enjoyable than grinding at the Gold Saucer, or doing ____ roulette x amount of times, or having it locked behind an achievement.
But if they wouldn't make the method to acquire it interesting then, yep, I'd prefer the Cash Shop.
Costumes I'd like to see added would be: Alphinaud's original costume (unisex), and Nanamo's costume (want to see what it'd look like on races besides Lalafell :P). Oh, and Krile's outfit, of course.

You're actually arguing this from SE's perspective? If you want to give them money that badly just buy shares in the company and leave it at that. Our subscription entitles us to as much as SE feels they need to give us for that subscription to remain worth it. If they gave us no content for the money we're paying the game would die overnight, so please don't try to pretend the subscription is solely for server access; it is for the continued development of the game and you well know it. The additional retainers don't bother me because they're additional. We already get two for free and two is plenty for most players. It's only hoarders and hardcore crafters that really feel a need for the extras. They've already confirmed we're getting additional storage space for free in 4.0 as well.Yes, it is. First of all, I'm already asking for something as is, and there currently is a system in place that makes Square Enix profit that is popular, so in other words, good business for them and good business for the fans except for those who do not wish to pay additional prices for optional services.
Would you complain about additional retainers as well? Those cannot be obtained via in-game and only with real cash. Just because you pay monthly for a subscription doesn't mean you are entitled to everything there is to offer. Glamour doesn't hinder your progress in-game, nor does it give you anything of true benefit outside of your own subjective opinion on looking cool in said outfit. The outfits themselves are honestly kind of special looking as is, and aren't really intended for us to be wearing them persay. I think charging for them benefits the consumer and the company.
Your analogy here actually makes no sense because there is no guarantee you are suppose to obtain every single thing the game has to offer with your subscription. All you are entitled to is your subscription to connect to a server and use their data to create a character and interact on your account. If you purchase a 3 topping pizza, it doesn't entitle you to a 4th topping unless you pay an additional fee.
If you purchase a three topping pizza it doesn't entitle you to a fourth topping, no. But if you pay a subscription for all-you-can-eat pizza buffet then I think you're perfectly entitled to request a new topping be added as part of that subscription. It is your analogy that doesn't make sense as you are not just 'buying a pizza'.
If you so desperately want to give SE your money please just go and buy shares in the company. You won't of course, because you don't actually care about SE making money. You just want your glamour ASAP so you demand it be in the cash shop so it happens sooner. If they implemented it in game in the next patch for free would you come to the forums and complain because you didn't get to pay the devs for it? No, you wouldn't. So why are you arguing so hard to be able to pay them more money than you already do?
And what is wrong with wanting the new costumes or skins in the cash shop? Is it THAT bad to want it now instead of putting something else behind a huge insane grind wall that noone really wants to do? Most people I know hate the many grinds for costumes in this game, but do them cause there's no other way. Grinding for gear sure let me grind, for actually game content, fine. But for a costume? I rather just flat out pay for the damn thing with money.. it's not that bad. You don't get points for a costume and it has no impact on your actual gameplay. So why not put costumes in the store.
I'd much rather have a quest involving crafting and farming drops and such then swipe my card and be done. I love working together with my friends and fc to do stuffthat would be fun.
Ohhh forgive me for wanting content in a mmorg instead of buying it lol
Also apparently wanting a quest means farming for mgp. Have no idea how it went that direction lol
Asking for a quest is now the same as a "huge grind"..well, that's rad. I guess it's not possible to be innovative, such faith we have in our dev team here..

Well I was mainly replying to people saying it being locked in the mgp. I should've made myself more clear so my bad extremely on that. But I can understand the OP honestly, if it was anything else I'll be right on your side. But I guess since it's just skins I'm more of the mind set of buying it and being done with it. But that's just me and I'm not even saying I'm right. But I'm odd as I would rather buy skins vs doing a quest for it.
Well, you shouldn't be rewarded for being a mentor tbh. It's a reward for being helpful, not something you have to mindlessly farm.
Personally I like stuff like this in the cash shop because 1- Things like gear and cosmetic items do not affect my performance in game, and are just visual enhancements; 2- It gives them a little extra income, so they can continue to develop this game that I personally love, and would like to see live more than a couple of years. I refuse to pay for retainers, because we keep getting more items yet no extra space to store them. I don't even hoard things, and have to drop stuff every day cause I'm at the limit.
Exactly. That's what I was implying. You shouldn't be rewarded for being a mentor. They are trying to motivate you to keep mentoring, but offering rewards only draws the bad kind of mentors in.
