Is it? Would it then not be just as ridiculous to "shame" people for ignoring party finder specifications, such as "Please have a clear already"? After all, the devs decided that you can join these groups. According to your logic, most definitely no.

I find that train of thought dysfunctional. It simply leads to a lot of socially undesirable effects.

We aren't talking about PF here tho, we are talking about DF. The devs also stated that you should follow the rules set by a PF group or listing.

Unless you specifically ask for a piece or set of gear, its up for grabs, and even then, if you didn't queue on that role or job, why should someone who is actively playing give it up just because? I think your train of thought is the more dysfunctional one, since you are comparing apples to watermelons lol.

I've found that, more often than not, if you ask nicely in party chat for a particular piece of gear most people are willing to pass on it. At least when it comes to dungeons anyway. Raids are a different story.

Let's think of it this way: Is your "need" directly related to your ability to roll need on something? (need it because it's better than what you have, need it for glamour) Then, it's perfectly fair to use the need button that is only available to you because you are playing the job that can use it for those reasons. Any piece of gear that you are only gonna sell might just as well have been any other piece of gear, and it wouldn't have mattered, so why use your role-specific advantage for a non-role-specific purpose?

I hate when this topic comes up. Its always someone who's unhappy that *their* particular desire for some random dungeon drop doesn't trump everyone else's.

Unless someone asks (and I don't *really* want the item in question), I will always NEED or GREED on loot in the DF. If I want it for Glamour, GC Seals, PvP use...doesn't matter; I have a need for it, so I'm going to roll on it. That's how the game is set up, that's the rule. If you really need a specific piece, go on that job/role to turn the odds more in your favor. Otherwise, don't complain if the person in that job/role decides to NEED on it.

Yes, PF you set the rules for the group. Not arguing that and I expect people to follow them. DF is a free-for-all.

Man, I would not mind it to be BOOSTED to be fair. I blow through ventures so fast that I'm always low on seals to keep them going. If it's not quick ventures it's helping gathering items for my craft's. Then theres also GC items needed FOR said crafting and lving my lower crafters. on that last leg to 60.

yeah im with you, if anything, I think it needs a boost, not a nerf
