With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

For my first run I am bringing me, myself and I.

Would be nice if we could bring our chocobo companions in. You know give them an actual purpose? But since we know that wont happen I'll try to solo this on my dragoon. But since the devs have said yes you can go in solo but its not meant to be solod so ill likely end up getting frustrated and giving up on it after a day or 2.

That's not the impression I got from the interviews. They implied that if you use the lvl30 save point then try to run the first floor (lvl1) you will become a lvl1 player again. It's to prevent speed running through in the manner you suggested. You will technically always be at the "Deep Dungeon Level" of the "Deep Dungeon Floor" you are currently running.
Short version:
Deep Dungeon level = Character's Level they have in Deep Dungeon
Deep Dungeon Floor = Character's Floor they are in Deep Dungeon
So if a Player enters Deep Dungeon Floor 1 as a Deep Dungeon Level 40, he or she can easily blaze through Deep Dungeon Floor 1 since they are over leveled for the place by 39 Deep Dungeon Levels.
Although we have to wait until release to be sure as we all know how things change last minute!
i wonder what happens if u want to change job , those save slots are confusing....so if i solo as bard to floor 40 then 41 is too hard , and want to go as sch? D: i will need to start from floor1 ?
why any1 would want to go solo as anything other than war , sch or smn?

I imagine that you would indeed restart. Just like you currently do in the open world. Changing from a lvl60 WAR to a WHM won't make it a lvl60 WHM unless you'd previously got it that high I'm afraid!

Four of us from my FC are planning on running it. We all have multiple roles so we'll probably start with tank, heal, two dps, and go from there.
Greetings,
Patch 3.35 is near and brings with it the brand-new Deep Dungeon: the Palace of the Dead. While we showed off a bit of this during E3 and also in a Developers' Blog entry, I'd like to share some details in regard to participating in this content.
There are two ways to enter.
- Entering via a "Fixed Party"
Players can enter with their currently formed party.
Since there aren't any restrictions to the number of participants or roles, players can make a group with up to four players to enter.
When continuing with a fixed party, every party member needs to have the same save data saved.
- Entering via a "Matched Party"
Similar to the Duty Finder, this system will match players within the same data center, and will progress with that party. This mode will be done with 4 players; therefore, when participating in this mode as solo or groups with less than 4 players, it will fill in the remaining slots. There aren't any role restrictions in place.
When resuming progression with matched party mode, you will be matched with others who are at the point in progression. In addition to this, you will also be able to group up with players who have the same save data in the matched party mode beforehand.
Moving onto the save data.
Players will be able to store up to two save data.
This can be either fixed party or matched party mode data saves.
(You can save two of the same type of mode as well.)
In addition to this, you can also convert the fixed party data into a matched party save data. By converting, you will be able to group with players who are at the same floor as you. However, please note that once the data is converted from fixed party, you will not be able to revert back.
You will be able to reset the save data as well. Resetting the data will reset your level and progression. We anticipate this feature will be utilized in the following manner:
- When players get stuck on progression, they can take advantage and try to improve their equipment via earlier floors the next time around.
*The status of equipment upgrades for Deep Dungeon-specific gear will be carried over even if the save data is reset.- Upon completing all floors, players can start over from the first floor by resetting to release the save slot.
Pretty deep stuff!I hope you are looking forward to Patch 3.35!

The one worry though is what about inventory? I mean it looks like we have dungeon specific gear and items, are we going to have a seperate tab or slot that will be in use or is this going to bog us down even more?
How does changing class / job work? Thanks!
