Mmmm grains!Alright guys we don't need to revive the zombie horse again and give it another beating. This thread has done enough of that.

The socialists have infested Eorzea! Burn them with fire!

That's not propaganda. If the mob is intentionally reset, and you're right - that's when they would punish, the GM can get you for griefing (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post2337557) .Whoever told you that was probably spreading propaganda hoping it'd spread and people would stop quickly pulling. The only occurrence of griefing that can occur with Hunts is intentionally resetting them, and funny enough that tends to be caused by people who are upset they arrived late and not the ones who got there fast and started it.

The idea behind sharing is that all would get the benefit of having more targets to take down. Its not social engineering, its being good neighbors. Instead I find this me me me, f u survival of the fittest mindset. Make the world a better place, it starts with your attitude not the world we live in.A chicken in every pot and free ice-cream for everyone? Hunts are a 1st come 1st served piece of content, the 'fact' that on one server or another a group has performed a social engineering reprogramming on the community such thatoone pulls a mark until the mark itself is begging to be slain because it's tired of all the fireworks and e-peen while the 'hunters' wait for more 'hunters' to arrive, doesnt alter the fact that there is no such thing as an early pull; unless you live in some utopian world where everyone shares equally in the wealth, regardless of actual effort.
LOL, well, whatever. Personally, I feel that if I or one of my friends either find, or spawn a A or S and members of our FC or LS want to join in, that's great, we wait for the team to arrive. But, what I'm not going to do is shout a general broadcast to the great unwashed inviting them to come over for free Allies Seals, nor do I want some horde to descend and turn the hunt into a zerg. If it's the middle of the night and warm bodies are scarce I'll do a general shout, because I need help. It's not about a me...me...me approach or being selfish, it's about playing the game as intended and not wasting my time waiting for everybody and their Mum to show up.The idea behind sharing is that all would get the benefit of having more targets to take down. I have to disagree with you, what you described is social engineering because you are modifying the community response to content and altering the way your community handles that content in a way that the developers did not intend.
As for making the world a better place, I strongly believe in a safety net in society, and a livable one at that. What I don't believe in is acting like you belong to a hive mind or collective. As for any further discussion in this vein, I'll not get dragged into a personal debate over what ultimately will amount to politics.

What a lot of people don't incorporate into the equation is the narcissism and malicious intent some people genuinely have for pulling the hunts early.
This FC in particular has a member(leader?) who genuinely seeks out hunts with a third party program to annoy others and shouts it out after he's pulled it to harass others.
Yes, they may have found the hunt. Yes, they don't have to wait. Yes, it's SE's fault for making hunts so weak in parallel to gear but does this mean you should also throw out human decency?
I guess that's up to you as an individual and the game's owners to decide because letting it pass without doing anything will only continue festering more toxicity in this game.

"one fc on my server is known for early pulling is it like that on other servers?
im just curious"
Wait so ppl still think this is a casual thing.. 1st come 1st served...it a competition..SE said that over a year ago.
Lol you don't need a third party program to be the 1st ther or to pull befor everyone and 2nd there is jake you can do about it, telling them to stop will not work lol SE won't stop them it a competition after all.

Of course you don't 'need' one but they blatantly advertise they use it and tell people to use it or get shut out. They're known on our server to attempt sell content and I don't know why people would bother if they know the group uses third party tools and abuse the community in the first place.

While early pulling is technically not a thing, there is a linkshell on my server that was notorious for a number of things. Not only did they frequently pull early, but they were known for not calling out hunts at all or waiting until the hunt was almost dead. If a group got to a hunt before they did, they'd steal aggro from the tanks, leash it so that it reset, thus rendering the previous group's efforts null and void. The last method was only possible before the Eorzean Development Team changed the nature of hunt marks and FATE bosses.
This went out of their way to ensure that nobody else on the server couldn't participate in hunts. And some of their members bragged about it. It really turned off quite a few, myself included, from wanting to participate in hunts. When the development team changed how hunts behaved, the linkshell essentially imploded on itself. Other people started participating more, keeping things (relatively) civil and wanting to give as many players as possible a chance to participate.
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
