I'm hoping it's a crutch until they can make more armor sets. It basically makes "unique" pieces of gear since they have different stats. We've gotten spoiled on being able to pick our colors I think.

Because magic can be absorbed by normal objects like rings. Depending of the original wearer positive or negative energy goes into the the object, and either could increase healing being the positive energy, or destructive power being the negative.

How is it, Mnd now increases total healing output, Int increases total damage output, it seems pretty obvious what they plan to do with this.

I've blown a fair amount of gil myself on gear that I can't use all because the color dictated what class could wear it. Seriously SE, this does NOT make the game better, it only makes buying new gear more confusing and frustrating. Color should NOT make a raptor jerkin DoL-only when the uncolored version allows for certain DoW to wear it. Never do this again.

I agree that changing the colour definately shouldn't have this kind of effect, adding a few stats here and there is one thing but completely changing the class restrictions is a step too far.I've blown a fair amount of gil myself on gear that I can't use all because the color dictated what class could wear it. It might be that some non coloured items aren't labeled/working properly though.
I also find it bizarre that colouring a HQ item can revert it back to a NQ, this needs to be fixed even if it means that you can only colour a HQ item with a HQ dye.
I wonder also that if you colour an item that has 50% spiritbond it will reset that as well, I assume it would, not good !

YoshiP or the JP Reps posted about this before 1.19 about the colors affecting gear stats.
As for coloring your own items they said they will want to look into that later on, so for now everyone is going to end up looking exactly same OR you can try to put on materia to these gears to match the other colors stats, which is kind of dumb imo.

I agree. If I want to make the stats equal, it won't, because if someone gets a green robe with Magic Potency on it, they are probably putting the same materia I'd put into the red robe, still making the green one better.YoshiP or the JP Reps posted about this before 1.19 about the colors affecting gear stats.

Wow, what? What happened to aesthetic freedom? This is debilitating.

I agree, I am disappointed that they would give different colors different stats. I mean we already "have" to wear certain gear based on our rank, so why not let us have the purely cosmetic choice of 3-4 colors for said gear? I happen to like green, but what about my friend who loves red, or prefers the plain white?![]()
